We booked into Penally Abbey for Christmas, hoping for a quiet, top quality hotel. The Abbey exceeded our expectations. On arrival we were told that, because of a cancellation we were being upgraded to one of the best rooms with a lovely sea view across to Caldey Island. The food throughout the 3 day break was beautifully cooked and presented...

One night's stay including a meal just before Christmas. The room in the eaves was delightful. The food was fabulous, especially the breakfast. What makes the hotel truly special are the staff. We were hugely impressed by them all. Professional, attentive, friendly, courteous... exceptionally good customer service

After visiting this beautiful part of the world for more years that I care to remember we stumbled upon” Penally Abbey” purely by chance. If you haven’t been here you are seriously missing out. This is a magnificent former Abbey dating back 100’s of years that has been lovingly and aesthetically restored by its current owners Mel & Lucas. Their...

The gateway to the carpark of hotel is rather narrow but the entrance and reception was welcoming and warm and very efficient. We had room 1 which was in the attic so up some rather steep stairs. It had had a lovely big comfortable bed, a window seat with a sea view, nespresso coffee maker and kettle but no en suite...

Absolutely Outstanding service! Saskia and her team made the experience of planning this party stress free. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly! We were able to go ahead of the event and decorate the court yard- and we blown away by how beautiful this venue is. There was fresh flowers, and a beautiful Christmas tree which...

We stayed for a few days whilst visiting family so wanted somewhere good to stay that would accommodate our dog. We booked a coach house room which was at the top of a set of outdoor stairs and along a balcony. The room was well laid out and spacious with a lovely bathroom and open views over the sea. The...

We stayed here on an off season short break in November. Now , Wales has a bit of a reputation for rain and out of season we were expecting bracing conditions. However we were very lucky with the weather and if the weather had been inclement the warm welcome and cosines of Penally Abbey hotel would have charmed us any way....

We booked 3 nights in November for a short break. The service was great in every respect. Our accommodation had a large walk in shower and a huge bed, every thing about the room was to our liking. We ate in the restaurant one night only as the other two evenings had special dinner nights, this was a pity as...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Penally Abbey is a small Country House Hotel and Restaurant situated in an elevated position, adjacent to the the 12th Century church in the pretty floral village of Penally.Penally, is only 1.5mls from the beautiful medieval walled town of Tenby with its cobbled streets, ancient ramparts, picturesque harbour, and long sandy beaches in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park. The 'Abbey' is pretty rather than grand. The rooms are beautifully proportioned and sympathetically decorated and furnished to compliment the style of the building. Unusual features are the large ogee head doors and windows through which one can see views of Tenby Golf Course, Caldey Island and across the bay toward the Gower peninsular. We serve unpretentious food in beautiful surroundings. Our staff are friendly but not too intrusive. Our rooms are warm, clean and comfortable. We are only 800yds from Tenby's South Beach. But most importantly we offer the warmest welcome in Wales. ... more   less
