My wife and I decided to spend the first week of 2016 in North Devon and chose Grattons cedar lodges as a place to stay. We couldn't have been happier. Upon arriving, Dave greeted us and showed us to our lodge. He made sure that we knew where everything was in the lodge as well as the some bonus items... More

Just had agreat new year break at Grattons. 5 of us stayed in Partridge which was a lot roomier than any of the photos could show. Beds were dead comfy, mattresses must have been 10 inches thick. Everything you could possibly need was there as standard but it was the little touches that took it to another level, silly things... More

Thanks so much, really appreciate the encouraging feedback. Loving the words 'little gem' in particular! Just a note to other readers that we have changed the names of the rest of our lodges for the 2016 season as below, hopefully not too confusing for returning guests or those looking at past reviews. 2 bedroom lodges are named after the fantastic... Firstly, and not to get involved in a trip advisor debate, please ignore completely the previous nasty and terrible review of Grattons. Like many of the previous reviews, this place is nothing short of remarkable. I booked a long weekend for my wife's birthday and with hindsight, I wish I'd booked longer! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner... More

Well my wife and I have just walked through our door at home after returning from a weeks holiday at Grattons Cedar lodges and I couldn't wait to leave positive feedback. We holidayed Saturday to Saturday with our 3 yr old Cocker Spaniel and stayed in Exmoor Lodge. On arrival I rang the bell at reception and Dave arrived in... More

I've just recently visited this awful place, after a long journey we came to the site, up the steepest hill I've ever seen and wondered if the car would make up, at last we reach the summit and was it worth it? Not on you nelly,it's just a site with wooden shacks and that's being polite, after navigating the steep... More

This review is unfair, untruthful, factually incorrect and vindictive. It is an example of why some criticise TripAdvisor. I will be reporting this review to TripAdvisor. I will relay the facts in a professional manner and avoid expressing my feelings towards this guests. 1. My wife greeted the guest who expressed positive feedback on entering the lodge. On no occasion... More

I stayed in Barn Owl lodge which has a balcony and wonderful views. It was very quiet, just the birds singing. It's an ideal place to stay if you want to relax.. The owners Dave and Ros were very helpful and were always on hand to help and had compiled a very useful information pack which was left in the... More

My hubby, daughter + 2 dogs spent 3 nights in woodpecker lodge we were met with a big smile even though we were very late in arriving. The lodge was spotless the heating had been put on for us so it was warm and cosy. There was lot of information leaflets on the table telling you what's going on around.... More

We didnt have the weather, but this place is beautiful! Lovely views regardless. We booked Partridge lodge and I think by far had the best view as no other lodges in front and was close enough to car. Hi, thanks so much, glad you 'loved it'. Lov'in that review title!! As you say, Partridge Lodge is well positioned at the front. Sorry the weather wasn't kind to you, but as you say the scenery in any weather is still fab. The fridge as you say hasn't a freezer compartment in that lodge, all other lodges do actually have... We stayed for 7 nights in Partridge Lodge, it was really nice lovely, clean and had everythng we wanted. The beds were so comfy. The owners were very helpful too. Coffee, tea and milk provided when we arrived, this was a really nice touch after a long drive. It was handy having a laundry and extra freezer space if needed.... More

My daughter and I stayed in the Exmoor Lodge (one bedroom) for August bank holiday weekend and we had the best time!
