Room 122 was disgusting. hadn't had a makeover for 50 years. Small dark over looking rubbish yard. Bathroom was even worse smelly and dirty. Was so bad we drove back home as was unable to stay in such terrible conditions..

Spent 3 nights here over a weekend in August. Easy to find, on the main road, actually in Ilfracombe Town. Parking was difficult and there were no spaces left at the hotel. Parking at the hotel is very limited (£5 per day). Delighted to find we had a lovely bedroom, although unfortunately it was next to the lift which meant... More

Recently had a weekend at the Dilkhusa Grand. Very clean hotel. Staff very friendly. Excellent service at breakfast and evening meal. Great value. Like Ilfracomb it does not make enough of its history. Both well worth a visit.

Nothing nice to say. Reception extremely difficult, Room stuffy and breakfast in a bear pit. We can't recommend to anyone . Shocking place apart from two bell boys / porters who wished us a safe journey. saving grace

Have just returned from a most enjoyable visit to the Dilkhusa Grand Ilfracombe ,celebrating our Golden wedding anniversary, was last there 50years ago, same hotel. We really enjoyed staying here. We went with Shearings and it is typical of their hotels. The staff were great, the food was excellent (ok it's not the Hilton but for the money it is great value) One problem I would point out is the hotel parking is small and you have to pre-book so we had to find an... Stayed for three nights in a Shearing deal. Upgraded to a renovated room which was well worth it. The only drawback was our room (230) was next to the lift which was noisy at times. The room however was spotless with a full size bath and a view over the front of the hotel. The food was well served bearing... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the level seafront of this hugely popular Victorian seaside resort stands the welcoming Dilkhusa Grand Hotel. The hotel was originally a private house, bought by a Raj at the turn of the last century as a gift to his wife - Dilkhusa translates from Hindustani roughly as ‘House of the Happy Heart!’ The hotel overlooks the picturesque Runnymede gardens and is close to the Landmark theatre which attracts many national acts. It is also just a short walk from the bustling 10th-century harbour where Britain’s most famous living artist, Damien Hirst, owns a restaurant. The Dilkhusa has a well-appointed restaurant combining excellent hospitality and service. A spacious and comfortable entertainments suite provides the ideal setting in which to sit back and enjoy the acts at this friendly and sociable hotel. ... more   less
