We pre-booked 2 midweek nights at this hotel as part of a Scottish tour, and in honesty were not particularly looking forward to our stay here, as we expected it to be over-run by coach tourists. Although there were 2 coach parties staying there during our visit, they were not 'in our face' because the hotel is large, old fashioned... More

We visited for dinner but were told in a not too polite fashion that without reservations we could not possibly be seated for 2 hours. This seemed strange because the dining room was empty. We were told that we could eat in the bar, which we did. The food was ok but nothing special. Service very slow. There are other... More

My mother and I stayed here for two nights. We booked it because it has a special family connection: my parents spent their honeymoon here in 1954. 62 years ago! I wouldn't hesitate to stay again or to recommend it, but have given it a "3" rating because it shows its age a bit. There's a certain shabbiness and the... More

Room was excellent, except no walk-in shower. I am disabled. Access was fine but I needed a walk-in shower and was told there were none available. I later discovered there was as someone else on our coach party had one, The bed was big, the lighting was good but unusual. The furnishings were old-fashioned but clean and tidy. No change... More

Lovely hotel, generous sized bedrooms and good internal décor. Four course well presented and very tasty dinner. The only downside is the poor WiFi router. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. Free entertainment is provided after dinner each night and there is a small floor for dancing.

We spent a lovely evening at Duke of Gordon Hotel for their Highland Dancing evening. The music was fantastic and very authentic with a kilted musician. Locals and tourists joined together to make the evening very lively with traditional highland dancing. The food and drinks are very affordable. The general environment of the D of G is excellent. There are... More

Throughly enjoyed our 1 night stay on a tour. Loads of charm in this comfortable heritage style hotel. Loved every piece of it, especialy the dining room and the many staircases. Only criticism would be, there wasnt a hairdryer. Would recommend this hotel. We would stay again if given the opportunity.

Lovely hotel and staff so helpful Rooms very spacious and well appointed Reception couldn't do enough for us Only slight negative - food could be more interesting and a bit less cooked! Very quaint and historic with a lot of tartan There was evening live music which wasn't too noisy

I visited on a coach trip to the lovely little town of Kingussie. The hotel seems to be the place of choice for many different tour operators. This was the accommodation rated as "Select" for our holiday, and it did not disappoint. Our room was large and comfortable with generous tea and coffee supplies. The bathroom was adequate with shower... More

Thank you for your review. The Duke of Gordon is popular with many groups and individuals due to the wonderful location and transport links to other parts of the highlands and beyond. The paintings were painted on the premises between 1936 and 1938 by Thomas Hutchison Peddie from the north east of England. We are fortunate to still have the... More

Fantastic hotel, the food was fantastic apart from the lasagna which was the strangest i've ever had. Room was a triple, scrupulously clean and very well appointed. Staff were exceptional, friendly and very welcoming. This visit was part of a trip to the edinburgh tattoo.
