This is our third stay at The Cross and the standards remain as high as ever. As with my previous review this was our last night of a fortnight touring mostly northern Scotland and our first night was The Peat Inn in Fife, and again the food here stands comparison with The Peat. It has proved more expensive this time... More

My wife and I stayed for one night. We were given a ride to and from the railway station. Our room had a Juliet balcony overlooking a stream. The room was spacious and well equipped. The meal was fine dining with a choice of a six course sampler meal or a three course meal. The meal was excellent and beautifully... More

Stayed here for one night with friends, rooms were small but very comfortable and well appointed. Restaurant was excellent, not cheap but we had a memorable meal, everything was of the highest quality allied to good service! Fine dining at its best! Staff throughout were friendly and helpful.

Spent 2 nights with 2 dinners and a breakfast. Walking in the Cairngorms gave us a great appetite. Ate al a carte for both dinners. Food was fantastic. Service was perfect, friendly and helpful. Room was warm and comfortable. Not cheap but very good value for money. Bonus red squirrel appearance when we came down for breakfast (which was also... More

Amazing place. The service was impeccable. The food is worthy of a Michelin rating. The riverview room with ensuite was spotless and very comfortable. Our stay here was amazing. Faultless. We cannot recommend The Cross highly enough. 6 stars!!

First of all, I must state in fairness, that we probably weren't the right customers for this establishment as we are not interested in fine dining. Ideally, it would suit people who wanted an elaborate dinner with accomodation on site. The room we were in, was an attic room in the eaves of the building which, although tastefully decorated, was... More

A peaceful, tranquil place to arrive at after a long drive from the Far North! This converted mill is beautifully designed, with a lovely woodland garden lovingly maintained. Our room was comfortable, with nice personal touches. We appreciated the seating area with a sofa - so many hotel rooms have only one chair, for some reason! Dinner is very much... More

This restaurant with rooms had comfortable rooms. Our room overlooked the burn and there was a bath as well as a shower. There were some easy walks which started in the car park. The food in the restaurant that evening comprised high quality ingredients with delicious flavours which was as good a many Michelin starred restaurants that we have eaten... More

Excellent location, with superb food both breakfast and dinner along with fine selection of wines. The rooms are clean, but basic and rather small and not places to luxuriate so don't expect that. Proprietors friendly and helpful; atmosphere is one of calm and quiet so dinner area is not in any way lively; although not a fan of music in... More

Dinner and breakfast was of the highest quality on both days, couldn’t fault it. The accommodation was great, the upstairs lounge, outside seating, had a really nice homely feel to it The Room (No9) – was fine enough, comfy bed, was disappointed that there no on bath for a soak after a long day. But was well rested and fed... More
