Booked for one night when we were touring. Didn't expect the place to be up to much because it was so cheap. Room was fantastic, comfortable four poster, corner bath and shower. The place was spotless. Had a problem with the TV remote and the pleasant girl on duty fixed it immediately. Had a drink in a quiet lounge area...

Sadly, the Columba House Hotel fell far short of my expectations and did not make for a pleasant holiday. My room was grossly over-priced, sub-standard, shabby, many defects, run down, there was an obvious lack of exterior maintenance and a very poor attitude from the (tenant) partner of the hotel when I complained. The good news is, after returning home...

Great place for dog owners. Rooms opening out to garden/courtyard. Lovely breakfast with good choice of hot and cold selections, pleasant staff. Big rooms with plenty space for dog. 5 mins walk to dog friendly pubs/restaurants. Only downside no dogs in bar area as it's part of restaurant. However on a nice day there is an outside area where you...

Kingussie is very peaceful and a great location to start exploring the Highlands. Hotel was very cheap for a midweek break. Nice big room with 4 poster bed. Room was very clean, front of the bath was a bit cracked, but that's just nit-picking. We had a very peaceful sleep and a great breakfast to start the day. All the...

Loved the room with four poster and good decor. Great bath for sharing!! Restaurant service was excellent, provided by very well-trained and friendly Bar Manager. He made us feel very welcome and helped my husband with whisky choices from the extensive range. Food was high quality - well done chef!!! Coffee room very atmospheric with Victorian furnishings. Location well of...

After reading other reviews I think this hotel is either a Hit or Miss and unfortunately it was a Miss for me! Being totally honest, I've met friendlier receptionists and did not like having to share a bathroom with other guests. If I had known this when I booked I would not of stayed especially as the Restaurant and bar...

After an excellent trip with friends we visited the Columba House. The setting is unexpected at the end of the culture de sac. This adds to the overall feeling of the restaurant and hotel. The dining room was superbly decorated, the staff were excellent and the steak was world class. An excellent evening.

I stayed 1 night to attend a birthday party locally, but was such a lovely hotel only wish it had been longer. I had "The Ministers Study" which is a lovely ground floor room with a wet room which sited me ideally being disabled. The car parking was right outside the entrance which again suited me perfectly. Yolanda was superb,...

Yolanda, we cannot thank you enough. You chose the right room for us bright and airy fourposter bedroom. After checking in we enjoyed sitting in the library and having a drink, nice and quiet and comfortable. In the library you presented us with menus to look over giving me plenty of time to decide. There was a large group coming...

This place is worth a stay just for the restaurant - top notch, with excellent well-presented food and service, but even if you are a guest you must reserve. The hotel is located close to walking trails and to a cycling path that runs through the highlands. However while the room was clean, the carpet was worn and was lifting...
