After an arduous drive we were warmly welcomed here. The hosts were great and really helpful. Our dog Poppy was equally welcomed and loved the attention she was paid. The family room was perfect bunk bed for the kids and a double for me. All clean, warm and presentable. A brilliant suggestion from Bertie led us to the Tipsy Laird...

lovely guest house in beautiful location. Room ok but freezing at night. Dogs allowed but not allowed to stay in room on own or any other room which creates difficulties going for breakfast. Website states dogs allowed but was told has to call to mention a dog would be staying. Awkward stay, very dissapointed!

Stayed here for a weekend and had a great time. Place was clean, comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely outstanding. Could only probably be improved with some baked beans but otherwise, excellent. One area for improvement would be the shower in our private bathroom. It didn't have the best water pressure but this was a minor thing in an otherwise...

We stayed at Sonnhalde while my partner cycled the Lochs and Glens North NCR 7. A beautiful Victorian house with stunning views. We were made to feel very welcome and Rog was given a safe space to store his bike overnight. The room was beautifully decorated and spacious and the bed was so comfy! Breakfast was just delicious and the...

We stayed here while walking The East Highland Way and it was a very comfortable stop. Our room, no 3, was large with views overlooking Ruthven barracks. It has an en suite shower room. The breakfast was delicious. The guest house is within easy walking distance of KIngussie town centre where we went for a meal in the Duke of...

The hose and hostess were lovely friendly people with plenty of local knowledge and were very helpful in suggesting what to do and where to go. The breakfast was to die for and plenty of it. The only down side was that our particular bedroom had a private bathroom in the stair/landing area but it did not spoil our visit....

We stopped here for 1 night en route to Orkney. The welcome was very warm, our room was very comfortable, and the guest lounge has great views across the valley. Sonnhalde is very close to the town centre so an easy walk into town for dinner (plenty of options to choose from) but a bit too close to the clock...

Stayed here for two nights on a whisky trail trip. The guest house is very nice, rooms are big and comfortable, lovely lounge area. Shared bathroom was not an issue. Bernie is a very friendly host. The breakfast options were good and generous. Kingussie is a lovely small town and local chinese was lovely for dinner. All in all a...

This is a large Victorian house on the hillside very close to the centre of Kingussie. The rooms are correspondingly large and the big twin room No.2 had its private bathroom next door. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and we're invited to make ourselves at home in the big front drawing room which had lovely views of the hills...

Imagine a warm cosy ski chalet but in a house. We absolutely loved coming off the hills and sinking into the huge comfy couches infront of the open fire in the sitting room. Our skis were kept safe by the owners in their ski shed and our boots were dried for us every night. The main reason we loved sonnhalde...
