Booked at very short notice so only hotel in a reasonable price range. This hotel is close to the beach and the bus stop to shanklin and Newport just a very short walk. This bus can take a bit of time to reach Newport. A second Bus stop to Ryde is just round the corner and for a quite rural... More

A conveniently situated hotel. Hotel clean. Evening menu not suitable for children. No entertainment, limited choice of wine and beer. Television very small for the room we were in. Breakfast OK, more fruit and choice of cereal wouldbe better.

When we arrived we found we were double booked but the hotel had booked us into a (better) one for a night. We then returned to this hotel who upgraded us to a sea view room. The view was over the roof tops but quite nice. The hotel was a little old fashioned and lacked attention to detail, e.g. curtains... More

Very clean, and centrally located within easy reach of the town and seafront. We were there for a wedding and stayed two nights. The wedding reception was beautifully done, and the food was lovely. The buffet-style breakfast exceeded our expectations and was on a par with 4 star hotels. Despite being so close to the town, it was very quiet.

The Wight Bay Hotel sits just off of the main road leading down into the centre of Sandown and all of the local amenities it provides. Like much of Sandown, the hotel is of Victorian design with later 80's or 90's additions. This extension serves as the bar, entertainment, dining area. The room we had was clean, tidy and well... We booked this hotel for one night before travelling to see friends in Ryde. It was only £60 for the night, including breakfast, so we were not expecting 5* accommodation. The room was comfortable but we did have to smile at the size of the TV in the room, as it was not much bigger than a tablet! We decided... More

The Hotel is in a central position in Sandown, however Sandown itself has become rather drab, with many boarded up properties. The hotel stands out like a rose in a bed of weeds. Very clean, staff who care and rooms decorated to a good standard. We did not have evening meals as we were out most of the time. The varied... More

An older quaint hotel, that is close to the shoppin g center. Friendly helpful staff and a manager that seems to get involved with every aspect of the hotel. We enjoyed a full english breakfast at little extra cost sitting in a plush dinning room., Although there was a bar, there was no noise to disturb our 2 night stay.... More

The wight bay hotel is a great base for visiting the Isle of wight. Peter and his staff are very friendly and accommodating and we're more than helpful. The decor is a little tired but the rooms are comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a good choice of food both hot and cold with plenty of tea, coffee and... More

After a bit of debate with my wife between 3 and 4 stars, we decided to go for 4 with a caveat: this is a budget hotel and as such should be evaluate. Yes, a lot of things could be improved, for example furniture would need repainting, the room needed a bit of small maintenance here and there and it... More
