Pineapple Beach Club is my vacation perfection. Read the categories below to see if it would be yours.

BEACH
A lovely stretch of that perfect Caribbean aqua blue water I dream of. It's a wide open beach with soft sand. The ocean is wavy, but not overwhelming. They have approximately five circular "floats" tethered out about six feet into the ocean you can sit on and could fit up to about four people. There are water sports I will include under activities. There are plenty of beach loungers. There are approximately six small shaded tents on the beach to fit two people and a small area with shade and some palm tree umbrella coverings. When we were there, the capacity was at 50% and we never had any problems getting beach chairs or being under the tents or shade. I could not say how much of a challenge that might be if they had higher capacity. At the end of the Pineapple Beach Club beach area, it continues to another small beach where there are small vendor shacks and one of them seemed to rent umbrellas and chairs. I suppose if you needed shade and they were out of shaded areas at Pineapple Beach, you could maybe rent one of those umbrellas to bring over but we never had a problem. That small area of public beach does get some people, but it's not bothersome at all. It was a very small amount of people and the vendor shacks in that area sold souvenir-type items if you were interested in partaking.

POOLS
There are two pools. One main pool which has a waterfall. It was clean (but cold) and there was hardly anyone in it except for aqua aerobics every day at 10:30 (more in activities section on that). Music is playing during the hour long aqua aerobics, but besides that there is not booming music all day at the pool, which I found to be wonderful. The other pool is the infinity pool, which is the quiet pool. It is small but has a lovely view of the beach and nice and peaceful.
Both pools are conveniently located to two different outdoor bars, where drinks are easily available without much of a wait at all. I did not experience any issues getting beach/pool towels at any time. They were always available and not a problem.

FOOD
There is Topaz, the main restaurant. Topaz is your only breakfast option, which is a buffet. The breakfast buffet was perfect with an egg/omelet station, a buffet of bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, sometimes vegetables, fresh fruits, pastries, breads, smoked salmon and basically whatever you might need for breakfast.
Topaz is open for lunch as an a la carte regular restaurant.

Your other option for lunch is the "Outhouse". This is an outdoor restaurant up on a hill. They serve fresh barbecue at lunch i.e., bbq chicken, bbq ribs, fish in parchment paper with vegetables, they have salads and fresh fruit to go with it. The Outhouse has the most stunning views of the Antigua beach down below. To have lunch up there is a truly transcendent experience and hard to describe unless you are there. It's a bit of a walk uphill, so if that's difficult for you, you can get one of the porters to drive you up there in a golf cart.

For lunch, there is also a pool/snack bar that has basic burgers/fries, veggie burgers etc.

For dinner there are two restaurants available by reservation, Chef Pietro or Pineapple Grill.
Chef Pietro is Italian and very good.
Pineapple Grill is upscale American food very good.
Topaz has dinner buffet most nights.
Some nights they do a special dinner.
We were there on a Wednesday night where they did a "Carnival" night with local buffet cuisine.

There is a coffee shop open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Cappuccinos made to order and espresso and regular coffees. They had some pastries available and ice cream.

I am a New York City foodie so my take on the food is, it's good. I was not blown away by the food, but I also wasn't disappointed in it. It's good and I think most people would enjoy it. I don't think you would come to this resort with food as the main draw. I am also Celiac and gluten free. I sent an email ahead of time and spoke with various chefs when I was there to make accommodations. Some of the chefs were outstanding and made me gluten free muffins for breakfast and made sure I had gluten free breads. Then there were days where it seemed nobody communicated with each other and that wasn't available. I was always able to find gluten free food wherever I was except for really the pool bar or the coffee shop.

ACTIVITIES
There was an activity board up every day with times for each activity. Aqua aerobics every day at 10:30 was a good workout most days with lots of the guests participating. All day they had various activities, some athletic, some dart games, some beach bowling, some trivia games, some bingo, some water balloon tossing, some cocktail making classes... it ran the gamut. You could be busy all day if you want or do absolutely none of it! It's up to you.
There are tennis courts and a fully stocked indoor gym.
They had an excursions desk that seemed fully staffed. We did not do any excursions so I could not comment on those.
Nighttime activities could be a DJ with dancing, a band, karaoke and if you are lucky, a Carnival night once a week which is a parade akin to a true Caribbean Carnival, so much fun! Night activities settle down around 10:30, 11 so if you want to get to sleep, the noise will stop then.

WATER (BEACH) ACTIVITIES
On Pineapple Beach, there is a water activity hut. It was great, they have floats and fins for snorkel off the beach available. Bring your own mask and mouthpiece, due to Covid restrictions they do not have those. They have beach kayaks, Hobie sailboats and never seemed to be a wait for any of it.

SPA
Not much of a "spa" but I went for a massage and it was professional grade. My back was in bad shape and Marbee, my masseuse, fixed me right up. They have basic spa treatments, massages and facials.

ROOM
We stayed in a waterfront room. We had a balcony with two chairs facing the ocean and the view was breathtaking. The room was good size for two people with a king bed, toilet/shower area with a door, and open sink area. The room was clean and functional and had a great view. I was not inside the beachfront or other rooms to speak of them. All the rooms seemed to be not modern but clean. VERY IMPORTANT room tip....we were on the top floor of the waterfront rooms (floor 3) our view was great and we loved it, but there were many steps. There are no elevators and it was quite a challenge. If you have any restrictions, I would let them know ahead of time so you are on a floor without so many steps.

STAFF
Just the heart and soul of this place. Every person you come in contact with from the porters to the bartenders, the wait staff, the activities staff, front desk... all of them. They will do whatever they can to take care of you and get you what you need with a smile on their face. There's one or two not so helpful, but you have that anywhere. It's a testament to their management and the people of Antigua
how lovely their staff is.

CLEANLINESS
I am a neat freak, germ phobe. This place was clean, and that's a lot coming from me. I never felt worried about cleanliness in any of the common areas or eating areas. The pools were very clean as was the beach. I never saw a bug in my room (and I was checking!) Some natural bugs outside but very minimal. Our vacation was still in "Covid times" and there were sanitizer stations everywhere and the staff are all wearing masks all the time, which I genuinely appreciated.

OVERALL
This resort is not super modern, but well kept. The beach is quiet. The staff is helpful. You can do lots of activities or none at all. It's adults only, so no screaming kids. The guests ran the gamut from families with adult children to couples to friends vacationing together at ages ranging from in the 20s to the 80s and everyone had a great time with each other. This is not a place if you want to go party and have loud music all day. It's wonderful if you want to go relax and do some activities when you are ready on a stunning beach in a safe setting. You choose your level of intensity.
I'll be back, and I wish it could be today!

I did a lot of research before I selected this resort and was looking for old Caribbean charm of a small adult resort with a friendly feel and that is exactly what we got. We traveled the first week in January and it was a perfect way to start the year. A lot of the people we met at this resort were repeat visitors, which says a lot about the resort. Antigua is an amazing safe island with wonderful friendly people and spectacular views. We did Shirley Heights on Sunday and enjoyed this fun family night with tourists and locals alike. We did the all day Extreme excursion and had a great time with Captain Toby and his crew. Lots of great touring and views of the island and snorkling in the crystal clear waters with the stingrays. The room we had was a quaint small room with two beds that worked out ok as we were traveling with our son, a little tight but we didn't spend a lot of time in our room. The room was always spotless with plenty of towels and a view of the ocean, even though we had a garden room on 2nd floor with a lovely porch to sit and enjoy the view. of the beautiful gardens. The porch was the walk way for other guest, but we found everyone so friendly and enjoyed saying good morning and meeting new people. The staff at this resort were all wonderful. Always had a smile and were willing to stop and talk or be helpful in any way possible. We knew going in the Resort took the environment very seriously and I was very happy to help by reusing the water bottles they gave us. There was water stations all over the resort and we were never without. The food was enjoyable and varied and always available. Loved the trek to the Outhouse and the amazing food and views. There are a lot of birds around the tables, but you cannot have an open air eating area without having birds. The food at the buffet was well covered and we never found a problem with the food. Numerous staff were constantly keeping the trays filled and protected. The resort is located on a lovely crescent beach with amazing white sand with lots of chairs although sometimes not enough shaded areas. The Atlantic ocean was a bit rough at times, but we swam every day and enjoyed the floating rings. The hotel supplies lots of things to do and we were never board. The evenings were lots of fun with really good entertainment and great bars with wonderful interactive staff that were very friendly. The lounge area is very intimate that encouraged you to make friends and enjoy the evening with fun and games. This hotel is an older hotel with a lot of charm. If you are looking for lots of new and shiny with luxurious bathrooms and large rooms, you might be disappointed. But if you are looking for a relaxing quieter vacation this is the place. We loved this holiday and was very sad to leave. Can't wait to return for our next vacations.

We spent 10 fabulous days at the Pineapple Beach Club, and could not have been happier. We had opted for a room with garden/pool view, and found this to be perfect for us. Our room on the main floor had a lovely patio across from the Tickled Turtle bar and pool, and we spent the late afternoons having a relaxed quiet drink in the cool shade by the pool or on our patio. The gardens were beautiful and perfectly maintained. The staff were so friendly and helpful.

Days were spent on the beach, which was clean and there were ample chairs, regardless of the time you arrived. We snorkelled, and tried the water sport equipment. The staff there were very attentive and helpful. While there were plenty of activities ( games etc) we somehow never managed to be at them, which is an indication that we were truly relaxed and not on any schedule at all! We did attend the street party, and thoroughly enjoyed the steel band and traditional dancers. The evening music, entertainment and dancing was fun.

We booked 2 excursions thru our tour operator, however from talking to other guests, the tours offered by the resort and MarvellousMarvin on the beach, were all about the same price. We enjoyed our days away from the resort.

The restaurant options were also great. We tried both of the a la cart restaurants early in the vacation, both were lovely and a nice break from the buffet. Reservations were taken only 48 in advance, so I would recommend booking first thing in the morning, or may miss out or find yourself eating very late. Snack options included the poolside grill for hamburgers, fries and sandwiches all excellent and made to order, and the Outhouse BBQ on top of the hill. The BBQ was very good and the view was worth the short hike (you could also catch a ride)
We chose to eat most meals at The Topaz buffet. Over looking the beach we found the staff friendly and something for everyone’s taste. The soups were particularly outstanding, and the breakfast omelette station something we really enjoyed. House wines were plentiful and better than average quality. The only night I had difficulty was the seafood night and with a severe shellfish allergy, I would have liked to see the shellfish dishes separated from the other fish options on the hot table, to avoid cross contamination, but I was careful and had no problem. Otherwise we found many unique and tasty options along with classic standards at the buffet, and throughly enjoyed our meals.

Lastly the selection at the bars was extensive and top notch. I think we tried most of the menu selections. The beer was from St. Lucia, and very good. Bartenders were friendly and the guests kept them very busy!

All in all a most excellent holiday, and I will recommend to anyone who asks without hesitation!

Poor food selection in the buffet. Alot of the same things every day. Plus I noticed that the food (carving station under a heat lamp) was sitting out at 10 at night with no one around. Only 2 restaurants that you had to stand in line early to get a good seating and book within 48 hours. 2 snack bars...one outdoors with mayonnaise based salads and I wasn't sure how they were keeping them cold. The main snack bar had the crabbiest women running the place. She was constantly snapping at her staff and the customers. Beach was nothing fantastic. Only 1/4 mile long. Tons of security around as the beach at the other end was public and they didn't want uninvited guests to use the resort. We had no wrist bands, which probably made their job more difficult but I'm sure their problem would be less if they gave out wrist bands to hotel guests. We had an awful room when we first arrived, but they changed us to the upstairs where the room was more spacious. It was however very noisy, being right by the entertainment. I complained to the housekeeping executive manager during a meet and greet and she said she would look into it and my request wasn't even acknowledged. For the cost of going to this resort, I could have gone somewhere that I would consider a 5 plus star elsewhere. Oh yes, very uneven pavement stones to walk on (one lady had to be taken to the hospital after falling) and everything is UP, the gym, the snack bar the better rooms etc. Keep that in mind if you don't like to climb hills.

Dear Valued Guests, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us at Pineapple Beach Club, Antigua. We were delighted to have you as our guests. However, it saddens us to learn you returned home disappointed with your holiday. The majority of our guests have expressed how warm and accommodating our team members are; therefore, we are quite shocked and disappointed if your experience was not more indicative of the norm. We understand that opinions regarding food will always be subjective, and we wish to clarify that all meals and edibles are prepared fresh daily. Food safety is essential to our operations, as we want to ensure that every guest is served nothing short of a quality meal. We are disappointed to note that some of the meals served were not to your standard. As this aspect of our guests experience usually receives exceptional praise, and it is quite unfortunate if you were not similarly impressed. Rest assured, we remain dedicated to ensuring that the excellent standards that we set for ourselves are upheld. And in spite of the highly unusual circumstance surrounding your holiday, we hope that you will allow us another opportunity to welcome you back to any one of our resorts in the future. Kind regards, Pineapple Beach Club, Antigua Staff & Management

Highly recommend the Pineapple for a relaxing holiday. Food was excellent. I preferred the Topaz for choice but the Pineapple Grill was also really good

Staff at the hotel are very attentive and friendly. Big shout out to Suzette, Roger, Renee, Nadlyn, Marvellous, Dennis, Danny and Joanne in particular for their big smiles and warm welcome.

Our room was on the beachfront and well located for bars, restaurants and beach. Overall the room was lovely. Tea coffee making facilities, WiFi, one uk electric socket (in need of repair) fridge, toiletries and all important a/c. The bathroom was in need of updating but serviceable non the less

We saw some lovely wildlife on our holiday and yes if you want to eat in the beautiful outdoors enjoying the sea view the birds will come a pecking. Every effort is made to cover the food and overall I saw great efforts to maintain the highest standards of hygiene

We traveled with family and asked for rooms next to each other, we also requested late check out. Both requests were met. We arrived to sparkling wine in the room and the air con already switched on. Lovely.

We were disappointed to have missed out on the beach party owing to adverse weather conditions. The day we left preparations were in place for a beach party. Staff worked really hard. Shame we missed it. Hope you had a great time.

We visited the Verandah while we were away but didn’t stay long. Overall we preferred the location and ambience of the Pineapple Beach Resort. We met some lovely people on our trip and thoroughly enjoyed our two week vacation

We had a planned 10 day trip to PBC. With hand sanitizer and wipes we boarded our flight 3/8 the start of the Coronavirus. It was a quick check in and a short wait for our room. We had waterfront 529. The perfect, most private view we could ask for. The room was very clean but small and needs hooks or shelves in the bathroom. We adjusted just fine once unpacked. It took about a week to make housekeeping understand that we’d like 4 bath towels.

The beach is beautiful. Plenty of chairs available although we reserved early for shade. We are all day beach people.

The drinks are delicious but I’m pretty sure there is very little alcohol or it is watered down in the bottle. I’m a lightweight and never even felt a thing even after asking for more on top. Wine at dinner was perfect. Beer always a good option and discovered Mango Martini!

The food at all the restaurants is very good! Favorite lunch spot was our hike up the steps to the BBQ. Perfect view, fantastic ribs and cold beer! We also enjoyed burgers at the Snack bar.

Dinner at Pineapple Grill and Italian restaurant equally as good. Service always excellent. Be sure to reserve your tables at 8:30 am at customer service 2 days in advance! Buffet was always a great option.

Low key evenings with some type of entertainment after dinner was perfect. Most nights we were in bed by 10.

I had a Spa message by Marbee which was on my top 3 list of all time massages.
I preferred this to the less expensive non private massage on the beach (which was also a good massage).

We ended up staying an extra 4 days as the world was shutting down because of the virus. This was a great decision as we are small business non essential owners. Thank goodness we had this wonderful vacation before going home to a different world.

We would definitely return to PBC. It was a perfect, quiet wonderful vacation! Thanks to all the wonderful staff, it’s going to be back to normal soon!

There are a few things you need to know about this resort. It is a mixed crowd, mostly older but there were people there celebrating their 21st birthday. you have to make a reservation a day in advanced at Chief Pietros and the Pineapple Grill. Both are worth it but the buffet changes nightly so you are not eating the same thing all the time. We stayed in the 900 block, there were steps to walk down to the pool and beach which was probably 50-75 yards away. if the walk is going to bother you, stay in the rooms on the beach. They have a great mix of alcohol and will pretty much make you anything you will ask for. The employees make this resort! They are so kind and nice. They will help you any way they can. the beach was windy the week we were there but when the wind calmed down the water was beautiful and clear. We worked with Marvin/Garth to set up a trip to sting ray city and Shirely Heights and both are a must while you are there. It's a far walk but do yourself a favor and go to Devil's Bridge, it's absolutely stunning. If I had to come up with a complaint, it was that they usually ran out of beach towels by mid day.
I'm sure you can find things to complain about if you want to, but we really enjoyed our visit and we will be back!

The resort is on the smaller size, which was okay, the beach is very nice however not as large as a lot of others, so if you want to want the beach it will be back and forth. Our room was a GV which was in the hills, so anyone with mobility issues, don't book a GV, get the Oceanfront. They have a thing about filling bubba cups, so you get to use the rinsed, not washed glasses that everyone else does. There are only 2 al a carte restaurants and for us, the Italian was the best, the Grill was okay, the pain is you have to book 2 days out and go every morning to book. The pillows in the room are small, but so is the room, and we didn't get any bars of soap for a couple days, we had body wash, but no bar of soap. There is nightly entertainment, which is okay, we made our own fun, and were usually tired out anyways. The big negative to this place is it is beside a public beach and some of the locals make there way onto the property and the security allow it, and they are selling drugs, and offering jetski rides, fishing etc.

Overall it is a nice resort, decent drinks, and good food with a great sandy beach.

We booked this based on the resort and reviews describing this as a laid back, relaxed, small resort. We got exactly that and loved our experience! We travelled with our 3 adult children (24, 20 & 17) and this was the perfect place for us to all reconnect and relax as a family. Our request to have our rooms close by and with 2 beds was delivered. We had excellent Garden view rooms (136 & 138) with a bit of an ocean view from the large balconies. Rooms were clean, and well maintained. Don’t expect high end finishes and you will be very happy here.

The beach was awesome! Activities centre is well run and well organized. We love our hobbie cat ride! Volleyball every afternoon was a hit with son and husband as was the corn hole and shuffle board set ups. Yes like many other places you had to go out early and reserve chairs if you wanted premium seats, but as an early riser, I would get out there with my coffee and enjoy an hour or two of quiet time on the beach reading my book and meditating.

Food was pretty good. There was lots of variety. We preferred Pietro’s to Pineapple Grill. Yes buffet restaurant area does have some small birds flying around, specially in the morning, but you are eating in an open area with beautiful ocean views. The snack bar food is very good but it could benefit from a better organization of ordering and serving as the poor cooking staff are stuck trying to figure out who showed up first. Difficult for them to do as they are only 2 and they have a very long menu of options to cook. I suggest to the hotel to either add a staff that would be responsible only for serving so the other 2 can focus on cooking OR reduce the options on the menu. A bit of tweaking here would make the snack bar experience much better.

BUT the best part of all was by far their New Year’s eve party! They went ALL out with a crazy amount of attention paid to all the details. A big thank you for all the staff that put so much time and energy in this amazing night our family will remember forever. I was also very touched when the GM thanked the staff on stage during her speech.

We hope to return one day to this little piece of paradise. Thank you PBC for a great vacation.

We have never been to the Caribbean before so we were really looking forward to this being our destination post covid.
We chose Antigua as we are cricket fans and our annual leave from work coincided with the first test between England and the West Indies.
We bookwd through the Barmy Army travel company as this suited us to have everything covered including our cricket tickets and all transfers. We usually book everything ourselves when travelling but with covid regulations still in place at the time of travel and it differing in each country we wanted to not doubt that we had missed something or be second guessing.
We chose the Pineapple beach hotel as it looked fabulous, the location is beach front and it is an adults only hotel.
We chose a beach front room (226) and it was fabulous. The view from our room was stunning. Our block was a 2 storey row and we were on the upper floor. The room was large, had a very large bed, bedside tables, wall mounted tv, table and 2 chairs, large sideboard come dresser, built in wardrobes with lots of hanging space and safe. An ironing board if required too. There is a second cupboard that has a kettle, coffee maker, cups, glasses and then drinks sachets and milk jiggers which are replenished when the rooms are serviced (every other day). 2 bottles of water are also provided initially which can be refilled in the Topaz restaurant and at the bars.
The bathroom was very big with a large shower area and sink area. Plenty of towels provided.
We ate at all of the restaurants during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed everything. I personally am a rather fussy eater, I don't eat any fish or seafood and don't eat any pork either but I certainly didn't go hungry. In the buffet restaurant the salads were plentiful, the selection of mains items changed daily with something for everyone and were replenished throughout the mealtimes. Breakfast had everthing you could imagine. I mixed it up each morning so I barely had the same breakfast twice over the 10 days we were there.
The staff were friendly and attentive, always greeted us with smiles and little conversations which made us feel special. They worked very hard.
The bars had a wide variety of drinks to choose from as well as the cocktail of the day and rum punch. Here too the staff were friendly.
The entertainment was fun and various activities took place during the day as well as 'a turn' on in the evening.
The beach was always clean and the sea was blissful. I enjoyed going into the sea and sitting in one of the 'floating rings' that are fixed along the length of the beach outside the hotel. On the beach there are numerous sun loungers with palm tress and parasols to shade under. There are sun loungers around the pools also. Clean beach towels are provided in a cupboard outside and there's a place to put used ones for laundering.
I would happily go back to this hotel at the earliest opportunity.
Antigua itself is a beautiful island and as we didn't get to see all of it on this occasion we now have a reason to return!

The pool table looked like it had new felt on it. They have a steak restaurant that has a $40 per person charge. Steak was good but very, very thin. Not really worth the extra charge. Order the steak at the other restaurant

Yep, I was there a couple weeks ago. You can vape and smoke anywhere outdoors from everyone's actions, not sure what the actual policy states. I vape and did so on the beach, balcony, walking around, etc.

That is correct. The fridge is empty. You will be given one bottle of water which you can refill from the tap in your room (the tap water is as safe to drink as at home) or from the water coolers at the bar or in the gym. You can ask for the fridge to be stocked but it will be at a cost.
