We stayed in room 1..twin beds as booked.when we arrived the cleaner did not know we were coming.room not ready.told to wait in the lounge.toys all over the floor.best thing about the room was the shower.we chose to share the larger bed because the other one had terrible stains on the bed base.we got up early 6am and left for home. It would have been about the same price to stay in the premier inn on the sea front and next time we will.best part of our visit was going in to Newcastle on the bus.

For £39 a night don't expect the world as the rooms are basic and what we had was not a en suite but 3 different items in one room, a toilet, wash basin and then enclosed shower! There is a lot of work going on around the street with refurbishment of houses and hotels and gets a bit roudy at night with late night revellers. On the whole its a great place for contractors and works people in the area but not for families or couples wanting a break.

The hotel in general is very nice, good location, close to the beach. The room was okay, comfortable beds and tea/coffee making facilities but there was a lack of soap and body wash which is normally expected in hotels and guest houses.

We arrived in Newcastle city centre after a hellish 9.5 hour journey from sussex by train and coach. Check in was a long time away, but after a phone call and chat with the guesthouse, we were able to get into our room for a much needed shower and nap. Tea and coffee in the room, private bathroom with good, hot and powerful shower, and freeview on the TV. Quiet family run place, very friendly and daily top ups of the tea/coffee etc. The location is great- close to the beach, a good range of bars, shops and the metro station a few mins walk away. We used this as a base while visiting family and were very lucky to see a heatwave, so the beach and amenities nearby were well used. This place was such good value - anyone expecting more for their money is deluded. We got everything we needed for an excellent price in a good location. Pay double the price for the Premier Inn down the road if you like...it won't be as friendly or accommodating though. Would definitely use again next time we are back!
