We'd booked for 4 nights, but due to ferry cancellations we had to stay another 2 nights. This was certainly no hardship! The staff were very helpful. The hotel was a little tired in places, but the room was comfortable and clean enough and really spacious and we certainly couldn't complain about value for money. The en-suite had a rally... More

Clean and tidy both inside and out. Friendly staff, nothing to much trouble. Toilets very clean and well stocked in toilet rolls, soap and cream. We didn't eat here, but the food that did come out and passed us, it looked yummy, if in the area again we would certainly try the food:-)

We stayed here last week for three nights as an Autumn break and to do some family history. We had room eight which was very clean and comfortable although a bit of a trek up the stairs. We ate twice there in the evenings, good pub food, very good staff and excellent breakfast. Would stay there again.

We stopped here for lunch. Tasty pub grub at reasonable price (£10 main course). The half portion fish and chips was easily enough at lunchtime. Attractive old fashioned bar. Lunch served until 3.00 pm

We visited here twice as the food and service was excellent. The food is traditional British with some seafood on the menu. Castletown is great as there are a couple of pubs nearby that you can combine a visit to making a good night out.

I visited the Isle of Man for the weekend of Aug 21st to 23rd and stayed at The George Hotel in Castletown. This is a super location behind the castle on the square - it's as central as it's possible to be; really easy to find even through the local paving works (will be nice when they've finished). The George... More

We were homeless for a day just before out flight back to London and had the George recommended last-minute. We didn't expect too much for the price but it was just great, the room number 8 was clean and cosy, great bed and all the other facilities – TV, kettle, en-suite worked just fine (the drain in the shower seemed... The food can be hit and miss here. But there is a good menu and always plenty of room. The barmaid is a bit hasty with the beer at times. Free wi fi. Only a couple of ales on draught, Okells plus one or to guest ales.

Stopped for lunch as it is near Castle Rushen. Thought food choice, wine and real ale were quite good - I had fish sandwich and a couple of pints of Okell's 1907. Service seemed reasonable (always room for improvement) and the bar areas were better / brighter than some dark bars in other pubs. I would go there again.
