Good, generous coffee with a ice of fudge. pleasant staff. Nice side street so a little quieter than the Main Street. Free wifi. Spacious and attractive. Very olde worlde. Didn't eat here so can't say but I would think it would be good judging by the tea and coffee service.

Waited too long for everything, but boss was out at 12.30p.m. Only one member of staff behind the bar, working extremely hard trying to serve drinks, take food orders and generally be the only face of the front of house. We were going to have another drink but the boss was to busy elsewhere to be concerned with his business.

Friendly staff and efficient service- we just had a coffee/tea as we wanted to catch the bus back to Douglas. As we didn't stay overnight I cannot comment on the hotel accommodation, but I suspect it was good..

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! there are many other nice places to eat in castletown! Ale at the ale fest was nice. Sadly on food there was a issue; 1/ overcharged for meal and they did not give us the refund 2/ found paper in a burger ordered and fobbed off as a simpleton saying it was something else 3/... More

My wife and I have just returned from a week's stay here. To those used to hotels in England, The George is probably equivalent to a 3* establishment and is best described as a good pub with accommodation. Our room was perfectly adequate with a comfortable bed and en suite shower & WC. The room was cleaned and the bed... More

I had the chilli but I'm sure it was just bolognaise the chips were massive frozen ones that weren't cooked fully in middle, my partner wasn't to keen on his food either as he had steak pie with about two pieces of meat in it too much gravy, waitress was friendly, garlic bread was lovely

Just called in for coffee after getting off the bus. Very warm welcome and lovely staff who were so helpful when my poor mum knocked her latte over! This is an old pub with lots of history and I would be very tempted to stay here if on the Isle of man again. The pub overlooks the castle and although... More

Wow! What an absolutely brilliant stay. Nothing was too much hassle for the staff to do for me. I really appreciated the stay, and if I ever come back to the area I will certainly be staying here again. The staff are amazing, putting customer needs first. Plenty of places could learn from The George!!!!!! Thanks for all your help... More

I was booked in to the hotel by my work for a business trip, I couldn't believe my eyes when I walked Into the place. It was black with dirt all over the walls, it hasn't been cleaned for months! Whoever the manager is must be a grotty person to allow this to happen. The place smells of greasy cooked... More

So this was a quick overnight stay as the cottage we were originally staying at was only free for a week and we had booked an 8 day trip! Being in my late 20s- my personal view of what qualifies as 'trendy' is very different to that of other people that age! What impresses upon me is the people who... More
