The hotel had clearly been refurbished not so long ago, presumably by someone not wishing to retain any of the character it must once have had. The reception area was minimalist to near brutality and the dining room contained too many mirrors. The service in the restaurant was not always as good as it should have been. However, the vast...

A five-night stay at this well appointed hotel was a pleasure. This hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment and now has superb public rooms, well planned bedrooms and nicely decorated corridors. (Builders are still in the hotel but their presence is not intrusive). ALL the staff were most helpful, the food served in the spacious restaurant was delicious and there is...

Nice hotel, room was very small and my view was a brick wall. Food in Restaraunt was very good and a nice lttle touch of being able to borrow dvd's especially when on business. Good location and i would guess that the sea view rooms would be stunning.

Full disclosure: We were a party of five stopping at the Town House next door which has an arrangement with Coast at the Claremont for room charging. This review is JUST for breakfast at Coast. We went for breakfast at Coast at the Claremont on Sunday 31st April. We went inside and waited while two girls chatted together. Eventually they...

The Clarendon Hotel in Douglas looks the part of a traditional seaside hotel from the outside. Inside, it is pretty stylish and looks fresh. The lobby has lots of framed posters from the golden age of rail travel and comfortable armchairs. My room was small but lacked for nothing. The bed was very comfortable, and I had tea making facilities,...

We stayed for a long weekend here - five days. The hotel has a lovely location on the promenade looking out to sea, although, regrettably our room was in the centre of the hotel. The shops, including M&S are within a few minutes walk behind the hotel. I understand that the hotel is a conversion of three terraced properties, and...

A well situated hotel with very friendly staff. Room was enormous with a huge modern en suite with lots of additional bits and bobs (Nespresso machine - yay), robes, slippers, Avida toiletries, free DVD loan and a sound system. Very comfortable stay. Breakfast service was slow - however food was freshly cooked to order, good and huge portions. A great...

Great location for the sea view, shops, ferry terminal and horse trams. The food was so good we did not look anywhere else for our evening meals and had lunch upon checking out. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean. Perfect for our Easter break on the Isle of Man. We will go back.

We stayed as part of a short weekend on the island, the Claremont dud not let us down Very well appointed room, lots of space, great view of the bay, comfortable bed, high specification en suite. The only negative was the quality of the food in the restaurant, acceptable but not outstanding, else this review would have been five stars...
