Lovely hotel, I was a bit worried due to previous reviews but the hotel must have had a revamp over winter because our room was spotless (and I'm fussy!). Breakfast was average but we paid £144 for 3 nights so can't complain. Room had a clear view of the beach/sea from the bed. Only issue was a party going on...

The highest recommendations go to the friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to help. A close second place goes to the cosy atmosphere. The room was a little on the small size and the lifts / stairs were quite quirky, but considering the value for money of this hotel, these were minor considerations. Did I mention...

Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far, away; this was the grandest of grand hotels set upon the sea front at Douglas. Today, it’s well past it’s sell by date and is a very sad affair in September 2016 when it hosted a group from retired seniors from The Crumblies...51 of them. Security? I need my room key...

Stayed here as part of a coach holiday. The food was very very good with 3 choices for each course. The service is excellent and all the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble

Not too bad for the price , basic and in need of some TLC , the first room we were given was very noisy as it was located at the back of the hotel near the kitchen but when we complained we were moved to a better room at the front with a sea view , a bit of hassle...

The Hydro is not the most modern of hotels. It is obviously used to quite an extent by visiting coach groups (but not during the TT races, when prices all over the island rocket!) Nevertheless it is a clean, welcoming hotel with friendly staff. Meals on a half board basis are certainly adequate if not hugely exciting, with a buffet...

Stayed here because it was the only one I could find at a sensible price that took dogs and convenient for early ferry in the morning. I had a single room - although it overlooked the wheelie bins, I found it clean, warm with everything I needed. Breakfast good - wish I could have taken my time over it but...

Spent almost a week in this hotel as a family of 4 adults. The room was quite clean and every day it was restocked with a generous amount of essentials. Even with a double bed and two singles, there was plenty of room so we weren't squashed in. A varied breakfast selection was provided which was delicious. The hotel was...

Stayed here for 2 nights while working in Isle of Man. Room was small for a double room and had furniture was dated and had a musty smell. Bathroom wasn't clean enough and had stains on floor and shower unit had dated 'black' dampness throughout. I ate in the bar on my 1st night and food was good and reasonable...
