The first time I stayed in the Sefton was the summer of 1982 and not much has changed. Now the Sefton hotel needs a lot of TLC from the owners, it is way past needing a good overhaul. I got goosebumps walking into reception, a slight damp smell mixed with stale...... something. The lift was an experience in itself, clanking,... More

In its day, the Sefton Hotel must have been very impressive. Nowadays it is looking a bit tired and faded. Whilst my room was very comfortable, spacious and had a great sea view, the furniture and bathroom seemed to be out of the 70s. The breakfast was fine - but a bit predictable and boring. Again, out of the 70s.... More

Pluses included all the important stuff: Spotlessly clean bedroom, bathroom and linen; comfortable bed; Room 306 very pleasantly spacious, including evidently brand-new bathroom; unfailingly courteous and pleasant staff; delicious breakfast buffet in airy first-floor restaurant overlooking promenade and bay; reasonable pricing. Negatives were more minor: Room 306 overlooks a very grimy lightwell. Magnolia decor of room acceptable, but hardly smart,... More

Absoutley poor! Very disappointed as the hotel looks gorgeous on the website. The lady on the desk wasn't helpful when we checked in. Our room was dirty and scruffy. There was dust in all places. At breakfast time we ordered a kipper at 9am she said 35 minutes wait but come at right time next time. I asked the waitress... More

This was our 2nd little break to the Sefton. We had been over in Easter bank holiday in April this year and fell in love with the place so much that we decided as a treat to go back over to celebrate an extra honeymoon getaway. We really cannot emphasise enough the customer care we received whilst we were here.... More

We stayed at The Sefton for four nights. Check in was efficient the staff member was polite and courteous, however we were not offered any information about the hotel and very vague instructions of how to get to the room. The carpets in the corridors to the bedrooms in places are stained and ready for new ones. The room itself... More

Still has not changed dramatically. Still as good, wish the staff were the same but did not see anyone I knew. Just as clean and comfortable, plants in Atrium are more mature than they were, but that's all to the good!

Before going into a small rant about why I graded our stay as "Poor"...I should point out that the check in process was quick and convenient with staff being very friendly and the wifi in the hotel was excellent. The breakfast included in our stay was okay, but nothing special. Here is a quick run down of the things that... More
