Stayed in The Sandringham Suite which offered generous space but was dull and bland and in need of new carpets. Bedroom overlooked the back of the hotel and, with no air conditioning, when window was opened there was a lot of noise from some sort of plant? / kitchen air con? Living room sparsely but adequately furnished including very useful...

I have no dislikes of this hotel and found the staff helpful and polite. From many visits to hotels around the world I found this stay as good as any I have visited! The location is so handy from town centre and buses.

A fully equipped gym? Not true! The equipment it has is cheap and dangerous to use. Staff are unfriendly. I felt like I was 'putting them out' simply asking for a drink. Walls are very thin, you hear everything next door. Don't waste your money

I spent one night here so didn't really get to use all the facilities, I only had a bar snack (club sandwich) which was pretty much a meal in itself ! The lobby and reception area is well decorated and very comfortable. A pianist plays most evenings and this lends a relaxed atmosphere to the place. The breakfast area is...

Very impressive and large hotel taking up one full side of the harbour. Excellent staff. Has a conference centre attached with expensive shops in the foyer. The queen once stayed here . The hotel is undergoing some renovation and we were allocated a refurbished room. It was excellent and certainly kept us git ax it was a very long walk...

My partner & I had to stay at The Empress Hotel when our flight back from Isle of Man was unexpectedly cancelled and what a fortunate turn of fate it turned out to be! The hotel is beautifully decorated in the lounge and reception area with relaxed comfortable and spacious seating areas. The centrepiece is a white piano & a...

My wife and I booked this short break to the Isle of Man approximately 10 days before departure, taking a friend who had never been to the island before. On arrival at the Empress Hotel, the reception was very good, we registered our debit card enabling drinks etc to be charged to the room. Our room was clean and tidy,...

Stayed at the Empress and enjoyed our stay. I'm told it's been some time since the hotel had a face lift and I have to agree. The rooms are nice and clean but basic especially as it's £85 a night B+B I thought a bit steep. If your looking for a well located hotel but aren't staying for more than...

Stayed here in June this year. A lovely hotel well situated on promenade. hotel and rooms were clean and tidy although room was slightly on the small side. Food was great but service a tad on the slow side as they served one party first and we had to wait. Would stay here again.

Enjoyed our anniversary and birthday in the superb Penthouse, with great views from the balcony over the whole of Douglas bay. Moved to a sea view on Saturday due to honeymoon couple already booked into the penthouse. Both rooms with a lot of space and comfortable bed, other furniture in the room so you're not lying on bed all the...
