Detailed Reviews
Yet another lovely stay at The Edelweiss. This was our 4th stay at this quaint little hotel, the second this year.
It is lovely and clean, wonderful views from our room every time we have stayed.
The owner is so accommodating, nothing is too much trouble and the welcome is warm and genuine. I suffer with coeliac disease and Shirley the owner remembers and makes sure that she has bought food in so that I don't go without or feel different from everyone else.
The staff are so friendly and again nothing is too much trouble.
I really can't recommend this place highly enough, the rates are very reasonable and thus is one of the few hotels that we have visited that still give daily room cleaning since the pandemic hit.
We will be visiting the island again very soon as our son and his family live in Isle of Man and will be making g a beeline for the Edelweiss again
Lovely place to stay.....try it, you won't be disappointed.

A really nice guest house located just off the sea front at Douglas, the rooms were really comfortable with a nice firm bed with good pillows & duvets & blankets, I slept well listening to the waves coming in from the sea. There was lots of space for clothes storage as well. The location was great as it had a bus stop just outside so that we could use the excellent bus service to explore the Island. Breakfast was really great with a good choice of items on the menu to suite all tastes, the staff were very helpful and friendly and made you feel really welcome. I really enjoyed my stay at the Edelweiss and would highly recommend it

What a little gem of a place. Stayed for the weekend and had a lovely time. The rooms are spotless, we had a sea view twin room that was very comfortable. Great shower and comfortable beds. Room to hang clothes and tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
The breakfast is good but what really makes breakfast worthwhile is Luke (Skywalker!!). He has a great sense of humour and has some great banter with the guests. He seems to know instinctively who he can banter with and he gave us a good laugh.
A great little find. We will return.

I usually stay at The Edelweiss several times a year when I visit the island for mini breaks.
Shirley is extremely welcoming and the accommodation feels like home from home.
The rooms are spotless and the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in and a good nights sleep is guaranteed. The breakfast has a wide variety of choices and the food is delicious and a great start to the day.
If you want to stay somewhere where you feel welcomed and looked after from arrival to departure the Edelweiss is the place to stay. Wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else and can’t wait to go back.

My wife booked for 4 nights at this guest house and we had 3 breakfasts. The weather was mixed but the comfort and hospitality at this hotel made up for it. The rooms are cleaned and serviced every day. Breakfast was made especially entertaining by Luke with no request to much trouble. There was loads to eat and it was good quality and piping hot. Our room was on the third floor and did not have a sea view. It did not matter. It was very comfortable and had the usual tea making facilities.
The only thing lacking was a mini fridge to keep the wine cool. We will return.

Dear Sir Thank you ever so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you and your wife enjoyed your stay with us, despite the mixed weather. It’s always a pleasure to read such kind words about our hospitality and service. I’ll be sure to pass on your compliments to Luke—he’ll be chuffed to know he made your breakfasts a bit more entertaining! We’re thrilled that you found your room comfortable, even without the sea view. Our rooms are typically booked as either standard (non-sea view) or sea view, so next time, we’d be absolutely delighted to reserve a lovely sea view room for you to enjoy the stunning vistas of Douglas Bay. As for the mini fridge, we appreciate your suggestion and will certainly take it on board as we continually strive to enhance our guests' experience. We do currently offer small fridges in some of our sea view rooms. We look forward to welcoming you both back soon! Warm regards, Shirley

Nice room with a very comfy bed. The place itself is in a convenient location just off the sea front and is just a short walk away from plenty of pubs and restaurants. It also has a bus stop out the front making it easy to get around. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Will look to stay again when next in Douglas

When we entered the guesthouse for check in we were welcomed very warmly and had all the facilities explained very clearly. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable with a stunning sea view. The guesthouse was quiet and we slept well. The breakfast was hot, plentiful, well cooked and very nice with a good selection. The owner was very friendly and spontaneously left us a congratulations card on our purchase of a property on the island. We were sad to leave this excellent guesthouse and would highly recommend a stay here. It’s very centrally located for all transport links and promenade facilities.

The hotel is well located, on Queen's promenade, so some rooms (including mine) had a sea view. That was nice to see the sun rise or hear the see.
Much choice for breakfast (both continental and English).
The room was correct, clean, but could be better...
Luggage storage is possible, that's convenient.

The Edelweiss is a quiet, family hotel that provides bed and breakfast. Since it doesn't serve an evening meal, there isn't the busyness of the bigger hotels with guests meeting for drinks on an evening. But it was a lovely place to stay and Shirley made me very welcome. The breakfast was great and substantial to set up guests for the day. The hotel made a lovely base to set off on my many wonderful excursions on the island.

I had an excellent stay at The Edelweiss. Shirley and her staff are outstanding and are very friendly. I stayed in a standard single room on the second floor. It was clean, comfortable and had all of the amenities you needed. There was even a bath robe provided. Breakfast was outstanding and there was a good variety. The room was cleaned daily unless requested otherwise. I liked that the hotel is environmentally conscious. The guest living room is comfortable and the fish tank is relaxing. My stay went above and beyond my expectations and I would not hesitate to stay here again when I visit the Isle of Man again. I would definitely book a sea view room on my next visit. :)
