I have just finished a 4 night stay here while exploring The Isle Of Man. This place was just perfect, the hotel itself was lovely, really cosy and homely. In a perfect location and a perfect base which is very easy to get all over the island from. A big mention to Shirley and the staff as they were the nicest, friendliest people from the moment I walked in they couldn't do enough to help make your stay perfect. Always willing to help and always smiling. So thankyou. If you are looking to visit the island then please look no further Its the perfect place. Thankyou again. Gaz
We absolutely loved our stay here! Cannot recommend enough! Everybody is so welcoming and friendly. Our room was so cosy, pretty sea view... a home from home! Breakfast was great. So much choice and variety. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Shirley and team!
Very clean. Fresh up to date decor (do not be put off by the stairs rather functional appearance). Well equipped and designed rooms. Hair dryer better than my one at home! Lovely firm beds and pillows. Very friendly staff. Breakfast good, buffet style, but I would have liked to have had some fresh fruit/fruit salad available. Would stay there again.
Yet another lovely stay at The Edelweiss. This was our 4th stay at this quaint little hotel, the second this year. It is lovely and clean, wonderful views from our room every time we have stayed. The owner is so accommodating, nothing is too much trouble and the welcome is warm and genuine. I suffer with coeliac disease and Shirley the owner remembers and makes sure that she has bought food in so that I don't go without or feel different from everyone else. The staff are so friendly and again nothing is too much trouble. I really can't recommend this place highly enough, the rates are very reasonable and thus is one of the few hotels that we have visited that still give daily room cleaning since the pandemic hit. We will be visiting the island again very soon as our son and his family live in Isle of Man and will be making g a beeline for the Edelweiss again Lovely place to stay.....try it, you won't be disappointed.…
I stayed here over the August bank holiday weekend for 2 nights. The welcome from Shirley, the manager, was very warm and I was told everything I'd need to know about my stay. Car parking in on-street and it's a case of finding somewhere on the promenade to park and then walk back to the hotel. It's wasn't a problem - but I guess it could be some busy periods of the year. The room was very clean and had everything which one would need, hairdryer, wardrobe, drawers, wi-fi, television, tea and coffee making facilities. The en-suite toilet and shower is small, but again, perfectly fine. The bed was very good and comfortable - better than the standard of bed in many more expensive hotels/guest houses. Sheets, pillow cases and bedding were spotlessly clean. The breakfast each morning was very good - a mixture of the usual fruit, yoghurt and cereal, together with cooked items. All of which is a buffet style self service, which is superb. The staff were attentive and friendly. All in all it was an excellent choice of guest house and one which I'll be booking again when I return to the island. Highly recommended !!…
I had an excellent stay at The Edelweiss. Shirley and her staff are outstanding and are very friendly. I stayed in a standard single room on the second floor. It was clean, comfortable and had all of the amenities you needed. There was even a bath robe provided. Breakfast was outstanding and there was a good variety. The room was cleaned daily unless requested otherwise. I liked that the hotel is environmentally conscious. The guest living room is comfortable and the fish tank is relaxing. My stay went above and beyond my expectations and I would not hesitate to stay here again when I visit the Isle of Man again. I would definitely book a sea view room on my next visit. :)
Shirley is warm, friendly, helpful and went above and beyond expectations to make our stay a memorable one. Great location, very close to the sea front, restaurants, pubs, electric tram and the main town. Both Shirley and Julie served us an amazing breakfast every morning, with great filter coffee and friendly smile. Me and my wife are Vegan, so they made sure we had plenty of breakfast options. We will be returning to the Edelweiss ASAP. We had a really brilliant time there!
The Edelweiss is a quiet, family hotel that provides bed and breakfast. Since it doesn't serve an evening meal, there isn't the busyness of the bigger hotels with guests meeting for drinks on an evening. But it was a lovely place to stay and Shirley made me very welcome. The breakfast was great and substantial to set up guests for the day. The hotel made a lovely base to set off on my many wonderful excursions on the island.
Really friendly receptionist and a comfortable bed in a small, single room (with en-suite facilities). Onchen is a 20 minute walk away from the main centre and Edelweiss is situated near a fantastic Italian (pizza) takeway called Neo's - the BEST sourdough pizza/calzone I have had in ages (but it's not on Trip Advisor!). I stayed for three nights - the only downside were - the shower could ahve done with some extra zing! and, considering I visited in November, the room did get cold (radiator seemed to be on a timer, and it was a very small one situated beneath a big window). Would definitely stay over again - excellent value for money.
We were booked into a triple room which was a good size and had plenty of storage for everyones luggage and clothes. The room was quiet, clean, warm and comfortable and had tea & coffee making facilities. Breakfast was £8 pp and had a lovely selection of hot food, cereal, pastries, fruit and yogurt. Parking was on the street but there was space everytime we looked for a place to park and also it wasnt disk restricted which was great. Within a short walk there were resturants and a shop and central douglas was a little further but no problem as we had the hire car. Would recommend to stay as your hosts will be very friendly and welcoming.
