Had an overnight stay for dinner, bed and breakfast. Staff as usual warm and friendly. Dinner was incredible, my wife started with cauliflower tempua which she said was delicious, I had the homemade soup, equally great. The she opted for the mushroom risotto, which again she said was really good, I had the fish and chips.....best I've ever had. Room as usual spotless and comfortable, each time we have stayed here, I start looking for problems....still to find any. Breakfast plenty and fresh produce, so a great stay....sgain.....to quote Arnie..'We'll be back'
It had been a while since I had visited the Mannin, and I found it as agreeable as ever. It was warm and comfortable and welcoming, and I was pleased to find the pleasant serving lady was still there. I am an odd person. I am a breakfasteer. I visit breakfast venues in Douglas, and occasionally write reviews. I am also an ovaphile (my coinage?) - I love eggs. Today I found omelettes on the menu, and gave them a whirl. It was Christmas Eve, and the place was very quiet, so my meal arrived promptly. I had ordered a ham omelette, with mushrooms on the side. The eggs to my taste were somewhat dry - I like an omelette still slightly moist. The ham I think was home-cooked and was very tasty, but as it was the festive season it seemed to have been cooked with herbs of some sort, which gave it an odd flavour. And the mushrooms seem to have been cooked a while before, and were pretty dry. But no matter. I enjoyed the meal, and will be back again very soon, and hope the staff will get used to my peculiarities and endeavour to get the omelettes just as I like them! Oh, and while I remember, I must say that the meal, including a pot of tea, was of exceptional value. I remember the kippers too were excellent, so maybe I'll give them a go again next time - with a couple of perfectly poached eggs, of course!…
Stayed for a Sunday night with dinner and breakfast included. A great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. A good three course dinner menu and super breakfast choices. Very clean and comfortable double room with shower/bath. Underground free parking. All in and a competitive rate - a definite high recommendation - we will be back again.
My hubby and I stayed here for one night and it's a beautiful place to stay. Central location, very clean and the staff are lovely. The breakfast was fab with so much to choose from. The bedroom was superb and very clean as was the bathroom. You have a hairdryer, iron and ironing board along with the usual kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. There is also a mini fridge should you require it. We are already booked to go back!
Wow! We had an incredible stay at the Mannin. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and every single member of staff congratulated us on our marriage. The food was the best we have ever had at any hotel! Incredible food. And a big shoutout to Liz Wells who made our stay wonderful and so memorable. Would recommend x 1000. Thank you guys
