From the moment we stepped through the front doors we felt looked after. All the members of staff we met were extremely polite and helpful. Our room was beautiful overlooking the front lawns with views out to the sea. There was a wedding reception taking place in the main dining room so we ate in the smaller Albert Room but...

Firstly the food was absolutely excellent. Though because we they were very busy we had to eat in "the conservatory"...otherwise know as the reception area. Not as bad as it sounds but not ideal. Large local group bookings clearly take priority. Breakfast was in the restaurant which was good. The bar is reasonably priced. Our room was comfortable and very...

First of all I'd like to say thank you to The Royal Hotel for donating the champagne tea for two prize to Cats Protection's Christmas fayre. My Mum won it and we went along this afternoon and had a SUPERB time! Everything was Scrummy and beautifully presented. I filled myself up and was kindly able to have my two remaining...

We went to the Royal Hotel for afternoon tea, a present from our son and daughter in law and it was excellent. There were roughly six different teas to chose from. Beautiful dainty sandwiches followed by hot scones and cream, finished off with a fabulous selection of cakes. There was background music playing and it really was a wonderful experience....

We booked on a midweek deal and paid for a car park view but were very lucky to be upgraded to a garden view which also overlooked the sea! The room was a good size and well equipped, the bed was comfortable and everything was clean and fresh. Staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay and housekeeping did a...

Had a very lovely birthday weekend with family at the Royal. Room was beautiful, service excellent and meals delicious. A really lovely atmosphere in the public rooms. I particularly love the mosaic pewter coffee table in the upper lounge, where can I get one like that ?Truly my favourite hotel on the Island.

I purchased a dinner/bed & breakfast deal which was reasonably priced at £145 for the two of us. The hotel was clean and tastefully decorated, retaining a certain charm. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bedroom very comfortable. The meal we had in the restaurant was excellent. I really appreciated the effort put into each course. Beautifully created...

It is a 600 miles round trip for me to drive to Ventnor and The Royal from home. Third time now I have done it, must be mad, but I will do it again. Stayed for the "Gastronomic" week end and enjoyed every bit of it. Impeccable, friendly service, comfortable room and great food. Even met some lovely people. No need...

An excellent weekend away including a visit to Osborne house, lunch at the Garlic Farm and a visit to the Botanical Gardens. Very good value especially as the food in the busy restaurant was above average and worthy of a gold award. Our friends chose the Classic room which was clean, comfortable and very adequate. We upgraded to a Premier...

We stayed here in June few summers back and loved having the pool to swim in on hot days. Location is great at top of steep hill. Quiet and private. Lots of good hikes nearby. Food was great (breakfast especially) but bit stuffy though and had seating arrangements if staying at the hotel... Afternoon tea was amazing - we were...
