We were welcomed warmly on arrival,at this very pretty Thatched house and shown to our lovely large and Bright room which was , immaculately clean and had a stylish contemporary feel to it with large original pieces of modern art hanging on the walls. The bed was extremely comfortable, with high thread count quality sheets. The setting is amazing with... More

We have just returned from two nights in this beautiful hotel. As you can see from the pictures and other reviews, it is set in a charming location, overlooking the sea with glorious gardens. We had a superior double room with sea views which was immaculate although quite minimalist (not cosy, although we didn't need cosy in July). The food... More

A wonderful quirky but immaculate 5 star+ small hotel Scandinavian decor and minimalistic dining furnishing. Beautiful grounds and patio area and a lovely elevated view --albeit over the rooftops-of the sea.well appointed conservatory for the cooler days with an abundance of soft seat covers and throws. A most genial host and the most attentive staff especially Emily-around every corner to... More

Only spent Monday until Friday but enjoyed every minute. This hotel is different to the normal , but don't let that worry you. The staff are great, pleasant and accommodating, the food is up to the mark, our room had a sea view, and was really pleasant. If we ever return to the Isle of Wight there is no question... More

Uber cool decor, with great modern art collection and outdoor art throughout gardens. Staff very helpful and polite. Rooms stark white but very comfortable. Nice quality fittings and bathroom decent size. Fantastic sea views and lovely terrace for pre/post dinner drinks. Breakfast very nice. Could be my favourite hotel on Isle of Wight particularly for entertaining customers thereby surpassing my... More

We stayed two nights at Hillside for a weekend break, and for the price we expected this to be a real treat. The house is beautiful with an amazing sea view. It has been decorated with the focus on the owners art collection with all the rooms minimalist white with metal fittings. In fact it feels like the guests come... More

What a gorgeous place to stay. Danish inspired decor, calm, stylish and a delight to visit. It feels more like a private home than an accommodation house. Breakfast was excellent, and every item was replenished as soon as it was taken. Highly recommended, and would be hard to go past in Ventnor.

An uber chic and charming small hotel with a fabulously presented Scandia styled interior. An oasis of calm in Ventnor town. The grounds are well cared for and a relaxing place to be, weather permitting. The staff were friendly and extremely attentive. Not cheap but one must expect to pay a little extra for such exclusivity. At first we thought... More

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at Hillside earlier in May this year, from the reviews I had read here I had high hopes for an amazing stay. The hotel is beautiful, immaculate and very chic so we were really pleased with that. There are rooms on the ground floor to sit and read, watch TV or just... More

This property is absolutely stunning, spotlessly clean with superb views. The breakfast is beautifully cooked to order with a lovely continental buffet. Unfortunately we didn't get to eat in the restaurant but we will definitely do this when we return. The owner Gert makes this property with his droll Danish sense of humour. Very pleasant stay in a beautifully quirky... More
