I had a single room as was meeting family nearby. Very comfy bed, I slept brilliantly every night. Powerful shower with hot water all the time. Honest bar available at all times, lovely sitting room with games. Beautiful garden with easy access down to the cliff top / beach. Owner and staff very helpful and friendly! I enjoyed a weekend writing course at the Grange. It is friendly, laidback and has a beautiful patio and garden. There are lots of books everywhere, and a lovely living room where the course took place. The bedroom was clean and comfy and overall it was a very relaxing stay.

We came over the August weekend which was blessed with the highest winds for ages and made sure to ride the Downs Breezer over the top of the island, thus doubling the breeze factor ~ very exhilarating! We have stayed at The Grange before and this trip was just as lovely as always. The beds are really comfortable and the... More

We found the hotel really interesting and the owner very helpful in all sorts of ways. Our ferry was badly delayed and he stayed up late to welcome us in and introduce us to the honesty bar. The building, art and gardens were all very unique and most enjoyable.

Our stay at the Grange was truly wonderful and we enjoyed every moment of it. The house is charming, cozy and a wonderful place to relax and take in the calm island atmosphere. The property also has a beautiful garden with lots of exotic plants - everything was in bloom and it felt like paradise. The owners are very nice... More

We have stayed at The Grange several times and for us, it is the ideal get-away-from-it-all, in the perfect location. It is in the heart of the Old Village in Shanklin, yet tucked away in a peaceful lane overlooking its large gardens and sun terrace. There is no noise at all, and it has ample car parking. The first and... More

Some months ago we booked two double rooms for a 4 day stay at The Grange in July. We found the place relatively easily, hidden down a side road off the main thoroughfare going through the old town of Shanklin. There is limited free parking which, on some days when we were there got quite full. We were greeted by... More

Because of the seasonal nature of tourism on the IOW, don't expect the sort of boutique hotels you may find in cities etc. Hotel has lots of character, pleasant grounds, a good breakfast and as IOW hotels go is definitely one of the ones I would be happy to stay at again, however the highlight of the experience is the... The Grange is in a wonderfully peaceful and pleasant location with beautiful gardens, comfortable rooms and lounges, friendly and helpful staff. We had a tranquil two days visiting places across the island walking and by bus. Beach and cliff path very easy to access and very near to restaurants in Shanklin. The honesty bar is just one little touch that shows... More
