Very pleasant gentleman owned the hotel. The rooms were fresh and clean. However, double beds rather small, so not a good sleep. Breakfasts were disappointing. Didn't have much taste. Poached eggs were hard. Tomatoes had a slight tangy taste

After reviewing various places for a three night break, we chose The Miclaren and we were certainly not disappointed. With a great location on the cliffs, right on the Coastal Path, it suited us admirably. Accompanied by our adult daughter, we had first floor bedrooms (rooms 3 & 4) overlooking the sea. The rooms were of a reasonable size and... More

We stayed for 4 nights in August, couldn't fault anything, rooms were lovely & clean, good breakfast provided with lots choice, very quiet location but just 10 - 15 minutes walk to Shanklin or Sandown beaches along the coastal path. Would definitely stay here again, much recommended.

Spent a week here recently, and throughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely quiet clifftop location made it a good base to explore the island. Both Shanklin and Sandown are within easy walking distance on the clifftop path. Our hosts Alan and Sue are very friendly and professional and gave the impression that nothing would be too much trouble for them. Lovely... More

My husband and myself stayed at The Miclaran for 4 nights from Saturday 2nd July 2016. My husband booked this B&B as a surprise for my 50th birthday. The Miclaran is situated on an extremely quiet residential road with ample off road parking at the front. When we arrived Alan greeted my husband by his first name, which was lovely.... More

We have just returned from a 2 night break at The Miclaran which we very much enjoyed. The property is in a quiet area, very close to the coast and offers free parking out the front of the property. We were given a warm welcome on arrival by Alan, who explained everything to us and showed us to our room... More

Spent 4 nights here with my parents, I have stayed here before when the guest house had different owners. However Sue and Alan were wonderful hosts and have certainly improved the guest house. The Miclaran is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is ordered the night before and is lovely and fresh with a good choice and quality ingredients. The View from... More

Firstly I will tell you about the positives. The Miclaren is very clean and all the rooms are spotless. In addition to this the breakfasts are excellent. Turning now to the thinness of the walls I am not joking when I say you can almost hear the next room turning the pages of the books they were reading. So if... More
