Conveniently located with friendly and helpful staff. My rooms were clean and everything functioned. The shower was powerful. The hotel caters for a wide taste food-wise - and it's all excellent. The full Scottish breakfast is fantastic (and a considerable undertaking!), and the grilled sea-bass on roasted tomatoes with samphire and watercress was beautifully done. If you're on an early... A traditional Victorian building in the centre of this seaside town. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was an excellent example of the full Scottish offering with its remarkable array of items. Ate in the bar - excellent meal which included perhaps the ultimate fusion food, haggis pakora. This proved to be a delicious combination... More

I did notice the rooms facing the front were far superior, though our room was very comfortable. The dining room panelling had come off the ship 'Mauritania'. The food was excellent. In the... More

It was Fathers Day and we had just arrived in the area thought we had no chance of lunch. We drove around and by chance saw this hotel and went in. There were no customers in the restaurant or the bar but there were friendly staff who assured us they were serving food. We were a bit concerned about the... More

Our two night stay was a very positive experience beginning with a beer in the bar. The room was spacious, airy and clean. Breakfast was good, but dinner was excellent on both nights. The staff were friendly and helpful. A great base for touring around Dunbar.

10 golfers from south of the border came again on an annual raiding party to this stunning area. We had a week of great weather, excellent golf on great courses with views to die for. To top it all off was the Royal Mackintosh Hotel. The dinner bed and breakfast was tremendous value for money. The food far exceeded our... More

Stayed just one night but the hotel is really nice. The room was really large and very comfy, lovely view from my window, I could lie in bed and look at the sea, wonderful. The breakfast staff were very attentive and the breakfast was brilliant, the black pudding was amazing. Would recommend this hotel
