We had earned our lunch with a 5 mile walk around Dunbar and were looking for Sunday lunch. The menu looked great so after our walk we went in towards the end of the lunch period timescale but were met with assurance that the lunch menu was still being served. We had the traditional Sunday roast and it was delicious,... More

It's difficult to put into words just how right these people have got it at The Rocks.......but I'll try!!! We were a large wedding party of guests, consisting of different families with different needs, and some guests travelling from overseas. I took care of booking the rooms over what was probably a 12 month period, I dealt mainly with Agnes... More

Located on the cliffs in dunbar my room had a view out over the castle and sea. Public areas of the hotel are old in style with lots of dark wood etc. Room was well furnished with a sleigh bed, easy chairs by the window. Paintwork was a bit chipped and marked but all clean and the bed linen was... More

Called in on a Monday night and were seated with no problem. The menu and specials had plenty to choose from. I had baby squid with pork belly and black pudding to start and it was delicious. My wife had sea bass as a main course and it was beautifully cooked although the new potatoes she requested were mediocre. The... More

Everything a foodie could ask for. The service: what can I say...amazing! Discreet but your every need attended too. The food: Delicious, tantalizing with bells on! The homemade cheesecake was light, yummy and can I have some more please! Overall its the bee's knees. I can honestly say I have never had such caring, honest, attentive and genuine service anywhere.... More

Ordered the mild madras chicken curry & to be honest I was expecting something really nice going by the decor, and surroundings , but I did not expect it to be 10 + ,... More

Been a big fan of Jim Findlays restaurants. Waterside in Haddington, Drovers in East Linton. However The Rocks tops the lot in my book Atmosphere so cosy, staff exceptionally friendly and the food ...... I had the one of the specials for my main course tonight, Mussels and Lobster Hot Pot. Absolutely delightful. My wife the Sole and kids, haddock... More

We stayed one night in room 4 which is a large airy room with a balcony overlooking the sea & rocks really beautiful. The shower room is basic but is more than compensated for by the large jacuzzi bath in the bed room which has the same super view! Every member of staff we met were some of the most... More

I stayed here before, for 2 nights, June 2015, with a friend & we had a great double room with sunken bath. Unfortunately the room my fiance & I got was not quite up to that standard & the plumbing was very very noisy! My fiance wasn't enamoured with the breakfast, I thought it was okey(except the black pudding, it... More
