Had a wonderful stay at The Rocks with warm hospitality, great service and superb food. We were looking for a pub type hotel of a high standard and we couldn't recommend this place more. Lovely atmosphere, great bar & delicious food with locally caught lobster one of the beautiful specialities. Lovely walks on the doorstep & impressive views right over... More

Nice location but the decor does need attention. Pleasant evening meal and breakfast and the service was good if not a bit inexperienced. Our room (12) was very small for a double but the heating system across the hall was operating all night and I didn't get any sleep. We pointed this out to the owner in the morning who... More

We had a wonderful evening here. The staff and service were exceptionally accommodating and the food was excellent. I had the Muscles and Venison and both were excellent. My wife had the Sea Bass and it too was superb. The portions were very generous. Have to add that the bread was baked there and was awesome.

Was taken to the Rocks for lunch as a birthday treat. Been before and enjoyed the meal. Oh dear the chicken was so over cooked I couldn't believe it. Struggled with it so as not to embarrass my host, but had to give up. So disappointed. Won't be back.

My mum and dad went out for their anniversary meal and only went out for an hour due to the ambiance of the place. The food was cold, no salt and pepper on the tables, the standard of food wasn't great!, Had to ask on several occasions for the candle to be lit. We are frequent visitors to the rocks,... More

Stayed here for our anniversary. Friendly welcome at a busy reception. Room No. 4 looks over the front of the hotel, enjoying rocky views of the coast. It has a great bath/Jacuzzi overlooking this view which was fun, and one of the comfiest beds we've experienced! Dinner of steak and lobster was tasty. Unfortunately they didn't inform us that they... More

We stayed for 2 nights at The Rocks as a short break. As we booked late all the rooms with a view over the sea were gone so our room(7) looked over a public park although a glimpse of the water could be seen to the right. The room was bright.A leaking kettle was a bit of a nuisance(they are being replaced)... Stayed at The Rocks in June & even though the weather was bad the welcome at the Rocks was warm. We ate there twice & as on previouse visits the food was excelent. The hotel is not plush but it works well

We had earned our lunch with a 5 mile walk around Dunbar and were looking for Sunday lunch. The menu looked great so after our walk we went in towards the end of the lunch period timescale but were met with assurance that the lunch menu was still being served. We had the traditional Sunday roast and it was delicious,... More

It's difficult to put into words just how right these people have got it at The Rocks.......but I'll try!!! We were a large wedding party of guests, consisting of different families with different needs, and some guests travelling from overseas. I took care of booking the rooms over what was probably a 12 month period, I dealt mainly with Agnes... More
