Beautiful, grand hotel in an excellent setting on sea front, the views are spectacular! Had afternoons drinks to get us out the rain one day, very impressed with the set up and the man who served us (bracelet man) was superb, he went out of his way for us! Went back for food from the bar menu, had an entire room to ourself, same the following evening. Food was fine, bar standard. Table cloths were still dirty from an afternoon tea and the windows needed the little kids hand prints removed but other than pointing this out it is what it is. Very Covid safe. Child friendly. They were due to close that week for lockdown2, such a shame for the staff in such uncertain times! We would definitely look to stay there if we can afford it next time we visit Paignton!

We had a clean, modern room overlooking the sea with a balcony. We stayed mid-October and always felt Covid-safe in the restaurants and public areas (and I was quietly reminded to wear my face mask when I came in one evening and had inadvertently forgotten- I thanked them for keeping us all safe). The staff reception, restaurant and cleaning staff were all really friendly and helpful, and Tina was particularly helpful when we made our original booking. Perfectly located for walks along the two proms, to the pier and into town. Would definitely book here if we were travelling to this area again.

My husband and I visited for a three night stay. We were upgraded to a room with a sea view and balcony, thank you Kim the receptionist for dealing with our request. The Hotel has beautiful architecture along with faded grandeur. The room was comfortable and fairly spacious. Outstanding views.Everywhere seemed a little tired but certainly not lacking in charm and character. The staff were very attentive and friendly especially Trevor in the restaurant. Breakfast was very good, they offer cereals, juices and toast along with a full English breakfast which was always cooked very well. The Hotel is a ten minute walk from the main high street in Paignton or there is a bus every fifteen minutes that takes you into Torquay which is a short journey. Overall we had a pleasant stay and will most definitely return.

Called in here for an afternoon beer.we sat outside and the view was excellent. Sadly the waiter forgot to bring the water I ordered and the glass that came with my bottled beer was very dirty. We were planning on having a couple of relaxing afternoon drinks but left after just the one .
