Lovely homely guesthouse. Pet friendly which was wonderful. Owner very helpful with places to visit. Very friendly and easy going. Will definitely stay again. Good budget guesthouse with very reasonable prices. Parking a real bonus. 5 minute walk to the seafront and a lovely park to walk the dogs just 5 minutes walk from guesthouse.
A good, economical B&B close to the shops and seafront at Paignton. The bedroom (No.5) was outstandingly good: still and sparkling bottled water, snippet sea views, and really good quality accessories like thick loo paper and liquid soap. Inevitably noisy neighbours - seagulls! Excellent breakfast but dining room a bit dark. Very helpful staff
I had to travel to paignton for children's week with an American truck called optimus prime and I decided to stay for two nights. I was running late due to traffic and very poor signs from torbay council regarding a low bridge but even though I arrived after the alloted time the hosts were fantastic. I was given room 7 top of the house with en-suite. I was given the keys and I paid for my trip. I then went out and returned late but this was not a problem... Lovely breakfast even though NOT ordered the night before... Strongly recommend and will be staying again... Thank you :-)
Accessibility - Far enough away such that you cannot hear the touristic rabble typical of seaside resorts. Situated in a cul-de-sac which is yards away from the back of Victoria Park and the town centre. The establishment is not suitable for wheelchair users due to no lift and narrow porchway. Room (3) - On arrival, very clean, free of dust, plenty of towels, suitable bedding for summer, twin beds and en suite shower, lots of storage space, large plasma TV and tea/coffee tray replenished regularly. Rubbish was removed daily, and towels replaced when required. The bedding was changed half-way through our 10-night stay. The bed mattresses are soft which we grew accustomed to (usually prefer hard/firm). The only thing which may be an issue to light sleepers is the daily early morning dawn chorus of seagulls, and can be resolved by wearing earplugs (like BioEars or similar). Breakfast - Brilliant! My vegan requirements were satisfied (cereal or muesli, plus vegan sausages, hash brown, tomato and mushrooms, almond milk for coffee and cereal, and 100% maple syrup for vegan toast). My partner had the full works and was easily pleased. As long you inform the host (Hans) in advance of any specific dietary needs or preferences, he would endeavor to meet your needs at the breakfast table. The dining room itself is quite cosy, with well-laid out tables. Breakfast usually served 0830-0930 (except Sunday 0900-0930), and performed very efficiently. The host (Hans) - A Top Guy who is quiet, unassuming and helpful with a bundle of humour inside. Gradually throughout our stay, we were able to interact with Hans at the breakfast table (when it wasn't so busy). It was great to talk about anything and everything with him. He also suggested suitable places of interest to visit which proved useful. On our last day we were sad to say goodbye though.…
