I stayed here for 3 nights over the end of May Bank Holiday. This is a beautiful old building and has the potential to be a superb B&B. The great thing about this place is the staff. Everyone I met during my stay was very friendly and helpful especially the lady in the breakfast room. A lovely person who was...

A big thank you to Emma and Kelly for being so accommodating and in this respect continuing what the previous excellent manager, Keith, did. We always enjoy our stay at Farnley Tower. Having visited Durham numerous times over the past few years, we look forward to many future stays at this hotel. The long term staff are very good, friendly,...

It didn't feel like hotel at all. Felt like staying at someone's cosy house. Rooms with high standards. The breakfast was stunning made to order from a choice of full English, omlettes or toasties. Quick service. We did enjoy the place very much. The only tiny minus is that lots of rooms were on the ground floor and hence it...

Warm, welcoming, friendly staff. The room was on the small side but very comfortable and it had everything we needed including tea/coffee making facilities, fresh clean towels and handy hairdryer. Tucked away made it nice and quiet, was only up the road from the great Italian we booked a table for two at. Lovely dining room, pretty garden.

Great breakfast, comfy room and friendly managed, I rested well in the comfy bed and would highly recommend this individual place. It's also walkable to the center which is wonderful. The cathedral, university and castle are a must see.
