We had a great stopover for 1 night on 31st October to break our journey from Hereford to Seahouses, Northumberland. This is one of the best travelodges we have stayed in and will certainly return. Kevan the assistant manager moved our room so that we could see our campervan from our window. Our room was clean and warm with hot water and 2 bath and hand towels, teas and coffee. Comfortable bed and spacious. The hotel has an annex at the back 2 story and we were there. Plenty of parking. The entrance hall smelt clean and welcoming. We ate next door at La Piazza and it was excellent, very quiet and covid secure. Durham was a 10 minute walk away with bars, restaurants. The Tavern in the Town in the square was very good.Lovely choice of shops and quaint streets, would be a lovely Christmas break. At 27.99 a night for a double we recommend it.…
We stayed here on Thursday 29th oct for one night. I use alot of travel lodges and they're great value. On first look the place was as expected, huge room with everything needed. However quite alot of cob webs on the ceiling and on going to the bathroom I noticed what seemed to be a used piece of loo roll at the side of the toilet that looked like it had been there quite some time. The rest of the bathroom was immaculate though so I just ignored it. I needed extra milks and my partner asked the house keeper. She was absolutely lovely and sorted it straight away along with extra towels. I'd definitely stay here again. Like I say it offers more for the money it costs. £29.99. Straight down the hill to durham city centre. I've stayed in far worse places for lots more money.
Needs updating, the bathroom flooring was coming away from bath, stains on the carpet, shower not very hot, kettle broken didn't automatically switch off got very hot, tap on sink pressure too high soaked every time it was used, breakfast boxes waste of money, contents not nice, strange smell in other room. Won't be returning.
nice for a travelodge, room as expected, good parking, hotel split over 3 buildings so a little confusing. staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. hotel just a short wal;k from the town center
Stayed at this Travelodge for a night as we had been before several years ago. We picked it as the Italian Restaurant attached to it is just delicious. The rooms are comfy and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We did have the packed break they supply. I wouldn’t rave about it but it was adequate. Durham town centre is in easy reach from it. I would certainly stay there again.
