Visited for the first time for food & drinks. The decor/atmosphere is really nice here however it was a shame about the food and service times, staff all seemed extremely friendly but it took over an hour for food there was numerous complaints from other tables on waiting times and mixed up orders. Didn't seem that there was much choice... More

I have to say each time we have been the service has been second to none and the staff are so friendly nothing is to much trouble the Sunday Lunch is the best i have had and portion sizes are... It's now really nice inside, massive improvement to what it was, the food was nice again a massive improvement, although it was rather bland which other people seemed to have noticed. My biggest concern is that it is so overpriced for a pub - I would expect those prices in a high end restaurant. I think If the prices were... More

Went for lunch with parents, one of whom is in a wheelchair but there is not much room for a wheelchair round the tables. There are 2 menus and a specials board but we were only told about one menu and we had to ask if there was any thing else. You have to order at the bar and we... More

This place has recently reopened and is run by the same people as the Old Mill at Metal Bridge which we like do thought we'd give it a try. We were not disappointed. We both had a traditional Sunday lunch (one beef, one pork) but like their sister pub there are other options available. The full menu has a great... More

The food did not impress me very much it was nice enough but nothing I thought "oh that was lovely" rather expensive for what I consider pub food. You can get better food at more reasonable prices elsewhere. Sorry I wont be returning or recommending

We visited today for lunch. Starters of king prawns and Stilton mushrooms were ok, nothing special. My husband had fillet steak which he requested medium rare but it came well done. I had the lasagne and it was ok but fairly bland. The staff were nice enough but service was lacking. We would have sent the steak back but had... More

Used to go to this lovely old pub when Martin and Sara ran the place (hope you are well where ever you are guys?). Past it every day so was excited to visit after the refurb. Interior looks like a chain pub and what is with the piles of empty wine bottles on every spare surface are they waiting for... More

We decided to go to this pub at the last minute as we had booked to go to Three Horse Shoes at Lameside, but we decided to change (mistake) Firstly, the pub has been refurbished to a high standard, however I'm not sure why they had put empty bottles of wine in random places! The background music doesn't match the... More
