Saw mixed reviews and were pleasantly greeted on arrival so were quite happy to begin. Noticed a leak in the bathroom (which was damp and badly ventilated) and decided to notify staff when we went for breakfast. UNfortunately when we got up in the morning the place was deserted!! Bar was locked (so no breakfast) but corridors and doors to... More

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in June and had a lovely stay, although would recommend a room at the back of the hotel, if your after a quiet night as it is on a busy road and on the main walkway for university students on route to the city centre. Rooms are lovely and the staff are... More

The rooms are above the pub so you can expect noise until the pub closes around midnight. Also the plumbing system is incredibly noisy (Saniflow) as there seems to be a big shredder under the toilet. Fine when you do it but annoying when your neighbour does. Service at breakfast is patchy. The poor woman can only do one table... More

This is the third time visiting this place whilst visiting my Daughter at University. It is very central. This time although I booked a single room I was given a single room which was great. Good size, clean, plenty of storage, bath and shower. The room was overlooking the street which I didnt mind but there was a lot of... More

this is really rooms in a pub that serves Mexican food. My room was very small (admittedly a single but this was the size of a hotel room in London) and I have seen a cleaner floor both in the room and in the hall and stairway. Rather noisy plumbing but I have also had a noisier room in other... More

The room we stayed in was really not up to scratch. Although the bedding and towels were were of good quality, nothing else was. The bathroom was grubby, the sealant hanging off the shower. There was not enough loo paper (not on a roll, just a pile of sheets of paper), no bath plug, no toiletries, no hairdryer. The loo... More

The location could not have been better, so close to the town centre. Small comfy hotel, clean with a great breakfast. Handy to have meals available in the bar on the ground floor. Will definitely stay there again .

When we were shown our room we were pleasantly surprised (especially after reading the negative reviews). Room was big, clean sheets, nice towels, plenty hot water and heating if required. We decided to eat in the bar downstairs as we were going to see a show at The Gala. After placing our order we waited and waited! When we enquired... More
