The view from my room was great...I loved staying there as it was so close to the city centre and exactly in front of the lateral side of Durham cathedral.I dint take an ensuite but the bathroom was close and always clean.

This is good value hostel style accommodation in a very traditional Durham student's residence. Everything is clean and functional but a little dated (particularly bathrooms). Breakfast is good and plentiful - and the location quite special on the Durham peninsula close to all the key sights. May not suit light sleepers who are troubled by bells!

The college sits right bang next to the Cathedral. Location is perfect. The gardens are seriously nice and staff very attentive. Accommodation is college-style and pretty basic. You can have single or double rooms, located in several of the buildings that line the street. My room was not the most pleasant, very dark (I could see the corridor in the...

Enchanting in the shadow of the Cathedral & within 5mins walk to the World Heritage Site and City centre. Inexpensive, basic student rooms with perfectly well appointed en suite bathrooms. Staff provide very friendly hospitality & great willingness to help. Don't look anywhere else for excellent college accommodation!

Basic student room with comfortable bed, shower en suite, kettle and wifi. Spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast served by friendly, helpful staff. Ideal location by Cathedral. My room was at the back overlooking the garden and I didn't hear the bells at all. I was able to leave my car in another college car park for £5 for the duration of...

Slap bang in the middle of Durham, surrounded by all the main sites of interest within 1/2 mile of the college and with great views from this beautiful building. It is just 100yds from College Green, the Cathedral and the Castle. available as YHA accommodation during the university holidays and book-able through the YHA sites but open to anyone -...

I stayed here for one night with a group of friends. The Location was great, right in the centre of durham. It was good value for money at £35 but being opposite the cathedral was too noisy at night as you could here the bells ringing throughout the night even with the windows shut. The room was spacious enough for...

Not much to add to last year's review - all still very basic but at least had a larger washbasin, despite being a single room. Thought the food was better this year - the kitchen / serving staff are as cheerful and very accommodating as ever. Only drawback was a room at the front - sleep? Hah. no chance! The...

Stayed here for a week at Easter. The college becomes a B&B out of term time. The rooms were comfortable and clean with shared facilities. The breakfasts were excellent with lots of choice and options for vegetarians and others requiring special diets. The real bonus is that the college is within the world heritage site of the city and is...

OK, it wasn't the fault of the College that we were there in the coldest March for 50 years, but it didn't add to the ambiance of the place. There is no onsite parking, but spaces can be arranged in a college down the hill and across the river. The College consists of the main house with dining, bar, meeting...
