Having read the reviews on the three tuns hotel, I strongly disagree that it was about time that this hotel closed down.On the many times we stayed there the only down side was yes it was tired and indeed needed a some paint BUT the staff were always helpful and the food both breakfast and the evening meals that we...

There are plenty of good hotels to be found in Durham, but this is no longer one of them as the property has closed. The University of Durham, which owns much of the land hereabouts, has purchased the hotel for use as accommodation for its postgraduate students at University College which is based at the Castle (which you might want...

We stayed in room 113 overlooking the front of the building, noisy but warm.We have stayed here before because of the ideal location for the centre of Durham. Yes the rooms are dated but the food has always been good. The staff are friendly and...

Stayed 2 nights for a weekend break. Rooms and breakfast were fine, decor and hotel generally a bit dated. Roadside rooms a bit noisy depending on time of day due to traffic. Taps in bathroom didn't fully turn off. Good value for what we paid and good central location.

Myself my husband and two friends decided to visit Beamish Museum, we looked for places to stay nearby and found the three tunns inn. I am so glad we did.
