We came for a team get together after work one night and made it in time for the "lunch menu" which ends at 7pm and is excellent value - it has mostly what the evening menu has on so don't be foxed by the title. We had a drink in the bar before being seated and the service was warm...

The restaurant, at the rear of the ground floor of the hotel, is decked out in luxurious fabrics to resemble an upmarket French boudoir with an animal print carpet to complete the theme. We visit the restaurant quite often due to its central location and sometimes treat Ourselves to the Chateaubriand set meal for two which we consider to be...

I recently visited this charming little hotel in old Elvet whilst visiting my son who is at Durham University. Extremely pleasant and helpful staff at checkin and at breakfast. As I booked at the last minute I got the last room, Indigo, which was on the first floor off a wacky tartan carpeted stairway. Although compact, and unsurprisingly decorated in...

What a lovely place to stay! My husband and I decided last minute that we fancied a night away and we came across this hotel on LateRooms.com We booked the Eden Suite as it included an outdoor jacuzzi. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly young lady who checked us in quickly and showed us to our room. She...

Myself and my husband who recently married earlier in the year celebrated our first Mr&Mrs Christmas at the Town House for Christmas lunch. The hotel is gorgeous and decor amazing. The food was delicious and service attentive. We can't wait to go back soon

We stayed for 1 night on 10.06.16 with the Friday Fizz offer. From the moment we stepped into the hotel the decor was gorgeous, chandeliers etc, just the style I love. Luggage was taken to our room immediately and there was a bottle in ice and chocolates on the dressing table (included in the offer). This was an amazing touch....

My friend and I went for a lovely long riverside walk in Durham, the day after boxing day. We decided to pop in here for something to eat. Ended up having the 3 course lunchtime special. Delicious and can I STRONGLY recommend the sticky toffee pud. Best I've ever had. More importantly I want to mention the blonde lady that...

Just had a fantastic overnight stay. The Town House is only 5-10 mins walkfrom the centre of Durham with the bars, castle, shops & cathedral easy to reach. The hotel is small & more of a restaurant with rooms, but the rooms are brilliant. We stayed in "Rouge" which had a huge bed, comfortable & a huge shower, only issue...

The pluses were that the starters, steaks and lamb main courses were delicious and cooked as ordered. The staff were helpful with providing for the 7 year old in our party and the sticky toffee pudding was yummy. The crime brûlée had mixed reviews from the two people who ordered it. They both agreed that the consistency of th brûlée...
