A hotel that seems to strike just the right notes, with a good clean room, excellent bathroom, nice friendly staff and good food, and reasonably priced. It was certainly a good choice for a stop-over on the way from London to Cornwall.

Thank you for posting your recent review of our hotel. I am very glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, albeit as a short stopover. Perhaps next time you can stay for a longer break with us rather than heading to Cornwall! Thank you again, and I look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

I was on a business trip and wanted to get on with some work over dinner. I was sat at a small table, the restaurant was empty and I wanted to get on with some work, I asked the waiter if I could move to a larger table and he said this was not possible. Have some common sense

I am very sorry that your experience of our hotel was so at variance with the general experience of our reviewers on this site. As was explained to you on check out, we do have a policy that guests who book on Dinner, Bed and Breakfast keep the same table throughout their stay, and therefore should someone walk into the restaurant having not booked we wouldn't move those guests off of their allocated table. We do have two dining areas within the hotel, our informal bar area, and also our AA rosette 'Seasons' Brasserie, the Brasserie is a slightly more formal dining experience, and not really suited to being used as an office, being laid up with cutlery, wine glasses etc. as it is. I am very sorry that you were unhappy, and we would happily have moved you to a bigger table elsewhere in the restaurant had you brought this up with us at the time, rather than only bringing this issue up on check out, and again now, two months later. As can be seen should you read through our reviews, we do a huge amount of corporate business, and many of our clients return many times through the year. I am genuinely sorry that you have not found our hotel to your liking, but would like to welcome you back should you visit again, so that you can enjoy the hotel as the bulk of our reviewers enjoy it.

Very helpful staff, excellent restaurant and comfortable rooms. A small downside is that the room I had at the back of the hotel (the staff made sure my 95 year old dad got a large river facing room) is rather small, but very comfortable. Location is good. Really enjoyed my time

We found the hotel, staff and food all excellent! The hotel even I formed us that there was a wedding on the same day but we were not disturbed at all - very considerate! We thought the hotel was very good value for money!
