Stayed for four nights. My room was spacious, comfortable and clean. I was made to feel very welcome by Sandi and Bryan. My veggie breakfast was delicious and the daily portion of cake was a treat, Sandi should be awarded the "Paul Hollywood handshake". Would certainly stay again. Thank you.

This was our second stay in the Old Vicarage and we were not disappointed. The room was delightful-calming and tastefully decorated. Everything was spotless. And Sandi's cakes, provided each afternoon in the room are delicious. As are the copious breakfasts. We would recommend this B&B without hesitation and hope that we will be able to return one day.

It was very nice to have you to stay again Linda and to hear about all your travelling – the price of the Isle of Wight ferry was a real shock-. We trust your onward journey was safe and uneventful. Thank you for another kind review; there are still two more double rooms for you to try out if you... More

Thanks for making us your first review Paul and for being so kind. It was a nice week having you, your sisters and mother to stay. The four of you certainly covered some miles as you got out and about; we were very impressed with your advance planning and organisation (down to Jean I seem to remember?) Good use was... More

This was a one night stop only, wish it could have been longer. The old vicarage is right in the heart of Barnstaple but don't be put off by its location. Its a very large Victorian building with a huge garden right next to the church. Inside its spacious and airy with modern and original features blending well. Your hosts... More

We had a lovely stay at The Old Vicarage whilst we were visiting Devon for a friend's wedding. Bryan and Sandi were very accommodating and welcoming during our flying visit. Room number 4 was beautifully decorated and home made cake greeted us on our return. Delicious breakfast, only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the local area.

Thank you for taking the time to post a nice review Sarah, we do appreciate them. Hopefully we’ll see you another time when you can explore more of North Devon. You mentioned an interest in gardens and vegetable growing; you may well enjoy a visit to RHS Rosemoor in Torrington; it is very inspiring. More

The Old Vicarage is a large and peaceful edifice blessed with a relatively quiet location away from busy traffic and the hustle and bustle. The welcome was friendly and polite with a lovely slice of cake thrown in. Parking was easy and free. The room I had was a single but perfectly adequate, clean and with a good shower. Breakfast... The Old vicarage was a perfect place to stay. I felt truly welcome, with cakes everyday, and the staff going out of their way to meet your every demand. Breakfast was lovely, and the beds very comfortable, with the interior decorated very tastefully. This was perfect and is highly recommended.

Thank you for your nice review Charlie. Sorry that you got so wet on the Saturday; hopefully your bike ride on Sunday was much dryer and you and your brothers all had a good time. My wife and I visited The Old Vicarage for 4 nights for a mini break in North Devon and we could not have enjoyed our stay more. The building itself is stunning and immaculately presented, our room was big, comfy and beautifully finished with fresh cake waiting for us. The en suite was enormous with a freestanding bath. Spent seven days in Barnstaple and this B&B was excellent. Very comfy bed and great shower and nicely furnished. The freshly baked cake in the room every day was a real treat - yummy. Bryan and Sandi were great hosts and made me feel very welcome.

Wonderful place to stay with a very talented couple namely Bryan and Sandi who are great hosts. Excellent service throughout from the food served, to the cleanliness and then very helpful with what is happening locally. It will take some beating.
