Room was clean and we'll catered. Recently refurbished bathroom was modern and fresh. The rest of the hotel could do with same treatment. Staff were friendly. Music downstairs was terribly audible in our room till 11pm but thereafter the hotel was silent despite there being a club in the basement. Prime location. Hotel looks great from the outside and is...

Too noisy at night! (Maybe better if your room is in the back, I guess) Because pub is under so it's noisy at night even after 1 am. We arrive late at night about 11pm nearly 12pm, what we found is that there is no real hotel reception. No staff for any hotel things just staff who also take care...

Came to the Lakes in February and stayed in Windermere had to get a taxi at night into Bowness as we were told there was a bigger choice of restaurants and pubs. So this time we booked Stats Head it's location is perfect in the heart of the town, an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants in walking distance. Has a...

Booked the may bank holiday weekend as a treat. Picked this hotel as the suite looked lovely. Saw the warning around the noisy bar however as we both like lively bars didn't think this would bother us. Checked in and was disappointed at the scruffy bar however the room was lovely. Came back to our room on the first night...

Great central location, 10% food and drink discount as a resident, free entry to Bucks Bar (late bar/ nightclub in the hotel), Sky sports on multiple screens in the bar, nice clean room with lots of hot water, full English breakfast. All the above are what's great about the Stags Head. What's not great? The parking is a 5 minute...

So it's generally a fairly poor bar, with a dingy interior and toilets that are like the opening scene from Saw, but it's the rude (and aggressive) staff that make it so bad. I'd avoid this unless you have a reason to go, it's just not very good.

Horrible weekend ! This place desperately needs to be redecorated and staff trained about customer care ! We stayed in a small room above the entrance where everybody meets to smoke, therefor all the chat is right outside the window! Very loud music from the pub, karaoke and night club, so it finally got quiet around 3am! No doubt about it,we would...

My wife and I spent the weekend at the Stag's Head and found it comfortable, clean and well serviced by polite and helpful staff. Its located in the heart of the Bowness with a multitude of attractions, restaurants, pubs and shops close by. The hotel has a homely pub with a games room and night club which we took advantage...

I was having my night out after work with my friends on 24th June when we decided to pop to Stags downstairs. The atmosphere was excellent, as ever, however this time something disturbing happened. I went to the bar downstairs on our arrival and wanted to order couple of drinks for my friends. As I approached the bar a petit, ponytailed black haired barmaid asked my what I was after. I said my order and then other of my friends joined as. I moved about 2 meters towards just to ask what did he want to drink which took me literally couple of seconds. When I turned back to the bar reaction of barmaid was at least shocking. She shouted at me never ever to leave the bar whilst ordering drinks. I tried to explain one more of my mates had just turned up, but then she interrupted me shouting even louder and pointing her finger straight to my face 'No, Listen! You have to stay here! ...etc...'. I've been frequent customer of Stags Heads for the last more than 10 years and nothing like that that had happened to me yet. Last week when we returned to the same bar with my other mate situation wasn't much better. We've been waiting on the bar to be serviced for about 20 minutes (!). People who came much after us were serviced whilst we were completely ignored. At this point big credit for not too tall barman with black short hair and beard. Only he turned up he serviced me instantly. Two other barmen turned out to be complete ignorant even thou I was trying to talk to them several times before the other, nice barman turned up. I'd like to ask a question if that is a usual routine of treating guests unpleasantly for some time? If yes, thank you for letting me know it, so me and my friends will choose other location for our following night out. Thank you.
