Manager Charles - Your recommendations for food, The Albert and then the following day The Flying Pig were 100% right definitely the right place to go with my friends young Daughter (The Albert) Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at the hotel, I am a fussy... Stayed in superior room on top floor. There are no lifts, so be aware. Lovely room, nice and clean. An ironing board and iron are supplied which is an added bonus. Television was a bit small but we werent on holiday to watch tele. Plenty of choice at breakfast, Salmon and scrambled eggs were delicious. Staff were pleasant and friendly.

We stayed here recently on a short break. The hotel overall was very nice with modern well equipped rooms, with superbly comfy beds and the staff were excellent. Parking was ample out front and the location is about halfway from the lake to the town. The only downsides were the tired lounge and bar area, tiny bathroom (caravan size) plus... More

We were quite disappointed on this trip we found a number of cobwebs etc when opening windows and we killed a number of spiders In the room. The price is higher and In my opinion you can now stay in a luxury hotel for less but this seems to be throughout Windermere at the moment doubt we will return.I must... More

The Woodlands is a pleasant guesthouse located right between Windermere and Bowness. The rooms are well-kept with a nice decor. The bathrooms are a bit on the small side, however this is to be expected in an old property like this. Staff is very friendly.

My wife and I booked the stay for a weekend to celebrate our twentieth anniversary. I am so glad we did. We received a warm welcome from the staff and our room was lovely. it had a four poster bed, a nice shower room and was really nicely furnished. One of our friends arranged with the hotel to leave a... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights on our way back from Scotland, fantastic guest house, staff and breakfast! We felt relaxed almost immediately after arriving and the small family feel of the hotel played a massive part in that. Would defiantly return and recommend to friends. Thanks Woodlands!

On first impression we found this a reasonable place to stay. But after the first night I found the room to be very small and pokey. We were upgraded on arrival to a room with a four poster, this the first time I seen just the surround with no curtains hanging from it, in fact it was rubbish. The breakfasts... More
