The hotel, location, facilities and views were wonderful. The biggest let down was the breakfast. I've had better at a Premier Inn or Travelodge to be honest. Also, in the small print, they only offer valet parking at a grand price of £20 per night! We asked local advice and found somewhere free! Apart from these two things, the hotel...

Stayed overnight at Old England Hotel and was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews. We got an offer through website for bed and breakfast. Hotel was really nice, room very clean and big, with views over lake, bed so comfortable and room nice and warm. Breakfast was lovely, served hot and by pleasant serving staff. All staff we...

We have just arrived home after a 2 night stay at the hotel, we booked because I'd stayed a few years ago and it was lovely, so I chose this hotel. This time we booked a family room no.118 which is directly above the front entrance. Lovely room spacious and clean but curtains a bit tatty and dated, bunk beds...

Visited this hotel as couple and paid a bargain cheaper rate than usually advertised. Hotel reception staff were so helpful and when entering the hotel it comes across lovely. Lobby area with tables and chairs overlooking lake is just fabulous with views to die for. Great for afternoon tea or a drink although very expensive for what you get. Over...

This hotel is nicely located on the lake and aesthetically pleasing, however there are some crucial elements in which the hotel is severely lacking. Upon arrival I parked my car (by myself) in the hotel car park. When checking in I was told it would be a 20 GBP charge per night for the parking, but "there was valet parking"....

I stayed at this hotel over the New Year period and perusing the comments section I have noted commonalities which match my own experience. I also note with some concern the patronising and selective responses from the responding management on this thread. It is an hotel that doesn't have to try given its location and it shows. A cash cow...

Dear paulobraun6, Thank you for your kind and honest feedback with reference to your recent stay at the hotel. As I stated in two other recent reviews already I admit we failed in the delivery of breakfast on a few days over the festive period, having switched over to a hot buffet style instead of sticking to our normal company...

We had been staying nearby and had the use of the Spa during our visit. However, having driven to the location I made an enquiry with the doorman at the entrance who advised that they we can have the use of the hotel car park at a reduced rate. Given that most of the area is pay and display for...

The hotel is well located within short walking distance to amenities in Windermere, the restaurant staff were very polite and attentive and the pool area was nicely maintained with working saunas and steam rooms. but that's where the positives end. The 4pm check-in is late by any standards and our room wasn't ready then. The decor is dated and badly...
