The hotel is in a great position for bars and restaurants, you can walk into town it's that close. The rooms were small but adequate for our needs, we were only staying one night. The staff were extremely helpful all through our stay, we arrived early for a funeral at about 1pm but check in is 3pm, however the lovely lady on reception sorted it out for us so that we could get into our room early to get a coffee and change. After the funeral we went back for a nightcap, I asked for a gin and tonic and it was so nicely presented in a proper gin glass with berries and ice, a nice unexpected surprise for a travel lodge. Breakfast the following morning was a little limited for me being both gluten and dairy free but the kind gentleman went off and bought me some gluten free bread for toast, they couldn't make fried eggs but I had bacon, fried tomatoes and beans which was lovely. The staff make this place and we had a very nice stay.

Despite giving this information to Travelodge a number of times, they have NOT had the decency to respond to me. We stayed in Newcastle-under-Lyme - room 202 the disabled room - both my wife and I are disabled, both with cardiac and mobility issues (I have had 5 cardiac events,) and I am also on 15 Ltrs a minute's Oxygen because of a growth in my right lung, upper lobe. The hotel was advised about the oxygen on Thursday night and I was told it was ok. We stayed from Thursday 4th July to Monday 8th July 2019. During a short stay in Stoke our son-in-law was rushed into hospital. It is for that very reason we had to extend our stay. I complained EVERY morning that the shower was pouring water across the floor (video available - still picture attached) which affected the shower flow and was dangerous especially in a disabled wet-room. The shower flexible pipe was broken underneath the mixer prior to our arrival and clearly had not been fixed. I am sure I would not be the only one to complain about this. Such is so stupid to leave it un-repaired in a disabled wet room, the flooded floor caused us to slip on the floor, I am pleased to say neither of us were really hurt or they would have heard from our solicitors. The room had NOT been cleaned prior to our arrival with lots of debris on the floor (photos attached). During the stay the room was NOT cleaned once (more photos attached). I was told that we should have used a door hanger - which we finally found just prior to leaving - it was hidden behind the bed in the upper recess of the headboard. The photos and video were shown to hotel staff in reception, but they weren't interested - they only smiled a stupid smile of contempt. We have stayed at Travelodge many times previously without complaint, but this was disgusting treatment. Staff that did not care and blamed things on maintenance and us for not putting out a door hanger - how could we put one out BEFORE we arrived? This must rank as one of the worst stays, we have ever had - a total waste of money! I do wonder exactly what Disability Rights UK would have to say about the treatment we received. I informed Travelodge I was going to post this to TripAdvisor but waited until now to give them a chance to get back to me - they never did. Hang your heads in shame Travelodge. You are just pedlars in filth. DO NOT STAY HERE

Bed okay. Marked sheet. Dirty teaspoon. Bathroom needed another hand towel and spare toilet paper. Needs more plugs near bed. When window open traffic is noisy as on main dual carriageway, fan not used but no air conditioning

The room was excellent and the hotel staff were the same. The receptionist on arrival was great and had a good knowledge of the surroundings area. The lady at the counter for breakfast was very pleasant and helpful & polite.
