We have just returned from a 3 night stay here, location was very good for access to the beach, a couple of minutes walk, however checking in is via the pub next door which I thought was awkward and off putting with children. It is advertised as free parking but what this actually means is local permit parking area, they give you a permit for a £10 cash deposit, and we struggled to find any parking every day and had to walk back to the hotel every time with a spot far away. The outside of the hotel and interior is quite run down, it is opposite an adult shop, and the room we had was very basic, clean but felt very run down, the bathroom was okay but a few broken bits like shower caddy and toilet roll holder, the towels provided felt and looked very old. It was also advertised as family friendly but climbing three flights of stairs with two young kids was hard work every day. Breakfast was okay, apart from the last day where they were very busy and we were served last even after families which had arrived for breakfast after us, and when we were finally given our toast, it was completely burnt. Check out on the last day was a nightmare, I had booked via Expedia and the hotel had taken payment from me on the day we arrived, however when returning my key I was told my payment had not gone through which was embarrassing as other guests were also there. I then explained that the payment had been taken from my card and I would have to go back to my car to get my phone and show them the transaction on my online banking app. I came back and showed this to the lady and she responded that she had to call the manager, I had to wait 10 mins until she had spoken to the manager, and was told that Expedia was holding my payment, I responded that this was between the hotel and Expedia and that the payment has left my account, the lady then tried to get me to give her contact details for Expedia so that they can query this and told me that I shouldn’t use Expedia to book, my response was that maybe they shouldn’t advertise on Expedia, she also said that this had happened before. I also had no idea how I could provide them with contact information for Expedia payments. Overall, this experience was embarrassing and stressful and I was disappointed to be treated like this at check out, which should be a very simple thing.

This hotel is very nice. Just don't go by the structure of the hotel from outside. Rooms are little small but enough for one family. Room was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was freshly cooked. I really enjoyed staying here. I don't usually write any review but this hotel deserves a good rating and review. I will definitely stay again in the future.

Firstly expected a hotel with parking. This is not a hotel it's a door attached to a pub. If you aren't fit, consider there are Alot of stairs. The parking is a permit and parking is limited we had to park good 5 min walk away. So what I had expected this wasn't. The room was dated and my window opened onto the smoking area. Not good for noise and for a couple who do not smoke. Shouldn't be allowed outside of a room so we couldn't open the window. One of our parties stay had initials carved into the bed and the kettle didn't reach the cabinet. So the kettle had to be boiled on the floor ? Major issue for safety. I was really disappointed to start with, but it was just a place to lay my head, it wouldn't of been a great long stay for me. Had to keep the fan on all-night as couldn't open the window. The breakfast staff were friendly and the breakfast was nice. Nice thick bacon. Rather have proper coffee than instant but in terms of the breakfast that's my only issue. The view was awful. The back of this place is sadly a dump. But not sure who is responsible for what. See photo. If you want a basic stay with good breakfast, then stay here. Just don't expect a hotel and parking as in carpark.
