We had a lovely three night stay at Old Harbour View and would love to go back some time. The situation is perfect and Peter booked us into some lovely restaurants. Anna makes amazing cakes which we were always offered when we came in. She always said 'have a little piece of cake' but we soon realised that by 'little' she means 'large'! We loved it there in every way. Fabulous breakfasts. Our room was quite compact but perfect for a short break. And Strawberry, the dog, just added to the experience.
The Old Harbour View had been recommended to us and it lived up to and surpassed everything we where told. We where greeted by Peter and from that moment on it was like staying with old friends. We where offered tea and cake upon arrival and then everyday cake was freely offered, home made by Anna and wow...what cake, we where treated to Guinness cake, Lemon drizzle cake and Dorset Apple cake and all three where superb. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was immaculate and beautiful, and like the rest of the house, very tastefully decorated. The en-suite is 'compact and bijou' but has everything you need, and the towels where changed everyday. Bed and pillows every comfortable. The view out of the window was all you wish for looking out over the harbour and able to watch the bridge being raised and lowered to allow the boats into the marina. The house itself is ideally situated to walk around Weymouth and considering so much happens just outside the window the room was very quiet. Breakfast....well.....what a choice, you name it and its available. Personally i chose the kippers on most days and they where fantastic but Peter always was offering more. Every breakfast was very well presented and very enjoyable. To top our stay off Peter and Anna have a dog called Strawberry who is very loving and very obedient. Having read this back it does sound like i am going OTT about the place but i really am not, it really is a great place and we will most definitely be returning.…
Our b&b was a very lovely experience. We were both made very welcome and nothing was to much trouble for peter. The breakfast was to die for and the cakes Anna made was simply delicious. I would truly recommend this place both hosts were great. We just loved it and strawberry the dog was very loving!!! .
A very lucky find. A speculative email when all of the UK is booked up for staycations resulted in a quick and positive response from Peter. He managed to find us three available nights for a quick break away. The house is cute, immaculate and ideally situated. We loved being able to step out of the door straight onto the harbour. Peter and Anna are genuinely kind and generous hosts. We enjoyed freshly prepared breakfasts, friendly conversation (with very helpful tourist advice) and amazing cakes. Where else can you stay that sends you off on your day's adventure and on your journey home with slices of delicious cake?! Oh, and meeting the most affectionate dog Strawberry was a highlight for my daughter! An all-round excellent place to stay.
We are fortunate to travel quite a bit and I can honestly say this is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. A beautiful house, tastefully decorated with incredible views and everything in walking distance. Lovely warm welcome, beautiful flowers in the room and a slab of homemade cake! Breakfast was delicious - top quality produce cooked fresh with plenty of hot and cold drinks. We never felt rushed and loved the mix of privacy with great conversation, if wanted. Peter and Anna are impeccable hosts. Unfortunately my partner became ill whilst we were there and taken into hospital. The kindness shown to me was like being with old friends. Thank you both we can’t wait to come back! Emma and Kerry x
