Thankfully, I have a good sense of humour, otherwise our Christmas getaway could have been a disaster! We arrived early evening on Christmas Eve, full of Christmas cheer and expecting a lovely, relaxing time in what we'd hoped was a beautiful highland hotel. We did receive a warm welcome from an extremely helpful and sympathetic young lady from Moldova, Natalia,...

Our room was cramped, noisy with dirty rusty Windows which ran with condensation even with the Windows open. The carpet was stained, the toilet seat broken and the bedside light flickered on and off. The carpets in the public areas were worn and threadbare with dangerous patches of torn weave, the edging on the stairs was loose. There was a...

I can understand what others have said, but we seem to have been v lucky. New had family room which was spacious. Staff were friendly and we were clearly in the quiet wing. Upside breakfast was simple but ample. We were also able to take a walk by the river. Downside , hotel was overheated and there was no way...

Room- no working tv, no central heating just plug in heater, poor water supply also caused poor flushing of toilet. Over bath shower can only be described as death trap- no rails nor mats and huge step to get in and out of bathroom. Many sockets not working and some lights in ceiling also missing. Wind blowing in through window...

There is no manager to complain to . The "Manager" who keeps apologising on here is fictitious! Any offers of compensation are unfounded. You would have a better night in a tent with no hassle . Do not pay any money upfront....big mistake. They will ask for payment at the reception, do not pay them and only do so when...

Myself and my bf who is a big guy were given a single room with a single bed and wet room halls style bathroom. This was in disgusting condition. There was no electricity and the light did not work. Reception stated they were overbooked so could not move us. However it was still showing online we could book a room....

I was booked in to this hotel by my brother and for once didn't check it out first, my first room had no lights and whilst this might have been a minor inconvenience in the summer a Scottish winters day dictates otherwise, a visit to reception where by this time payment in advance had been made produced another room designed...

I could see from reading previous reviews that things had thankfully improved by the time we stayed for one night. Our booking took a bit to find ( we did book late) but after a 10 minute wait and a dash upstairs by the person on reception "to check for a room that would be suitable" for us we were...

Probably the oldest coaching inn to be found in Scotland, the Huntly Arms Hotel was first built in 1432 and has played host to Jacobite leaders and even later, Queen Victoria. Located in the heart of Royal Deeside the hotel has retained much of its traditional charm and character and is just the thing for a relaxing and memorable Scottish break. Leisure seekers will enjoy the local area as many golf courses are within a 50-mile drive of the hotel, with country pursuits, gliding, water-skiing and cycling all available nearby. ... more   less
