We stayed for 4 days in June. Room We had a room right next to reception. Felt a bit strange in that you went though a single door and were in your room. If the bar had been noisy it might have disturbed, but was very quiet during our stay, so apart from the phone ringing late one evening did... More

We had an upstairs room that was clean and airy. The views across the loch were to die for particularly when an osprey came flying by looking for his (and hers) breakfast. The bird theme continued when the resident swan scared off two land rovers in defence of his brood of cygnets. It was brilliant! The staff both behind the... More

Went to the lodge on the 2/7/16 with my wife. We both had a lovely, relaxing time in an idyllic setting with the owners being very friendly and the staff were great. My wife and I both agreed that it would have been better to stay a couple of nights to take in more of what the lodge had to... More

Our stay here was absolutely perfect. Couldn't fault anything. Jean, Derek and the staff were brilliant, our room was brilliant and the food was delicious! My husband and I stayed in the room with the hamman suite. We would highly recommend it.

A number of our guests had a comfortable stay at this hotel after my daughter's wedding at Glen Tanar chapel of St Lesmo. My wife and I did not stay but this hotel was most helpful in agreeing to serve coffee and biscuits on the morning after the wedding, so that, we were able to say farewell to family members... More

We stayed for two nights in the hotel, attracted by the idyllic location which is beside a lake with mountain views and surrounded by flora and fauna. Near to the Cairngorms national park and Balmoral etc. All very lovely. The room was nicely decorated, comfy bed, spacious and clean, with towels, robes, slippers, toiletries and kettle. Plenty of free parking.... More

We visited as a family on a Saturday for an evening meal, the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food was very good and the setting is beautiful, as the title says it is situated beside a loch. The only thing that spoiled the peaceful setting was a group obviously on a 'hen night'. Fortunately we had almost finished... More

We first visited in January to arrange our dinner. We intended having exclusive use of the lodge for the night. This includes dinner, bed and breakfast for 28 people in 14 bedrooms. 3 family suites were just what we needed. Jean showed us around every room in the lodge and we discussed the fact that there would be 2 children... More

We booked a last minute, two night break for five of us (2 adults, 3 children). We had a very comfortable family suite - a double room and a twin room with an extra bed which were connected via a shower/wet room. It was very well appointed with sockets in all the right places and spotlessly clean. We dined in... More
