My friend, his two small dogs and I stayed at Careys Cottages in June 2012. My friend and his dogs stayed for two, I for three nights. We arrived rather late (around 9.30 p.m.) but the owner welcomed us with a smile. We had the bigger room with a comfy double bed and a washbasin. The bathroom/toilet is shared but... More

I stayed here in July with my boyfriend and parents, who were visiting the UK from New Zealand. I wanted to take them somewhere peaceful away from London for a few days. When looking for accommodation in the New Forest I really struggled to find any B&Bs that had two rooms available, so Careys was a lifesaver. The bigger room... More

If you like plain boring places with magnolia paint and a complete lack of character and soul then don't stay here. If, on the other hand, you like charm, character, quirkiness, colour and warmth, and you love animals and wildlife then don't stay anywhere other than here! The house is owned by a very lovely lady, who will go out... More

As a touring musician I happen to spend a lot of my time in sterile B&Bs and hotelrooms which seem to look and smell the same wherever I go! Well, it didn't take long for me to realize that Careys Cottage is different. After having negotiated the hungry pony waiting at the gate (I swear it tried to nibble my... More

This B&B was what we hoped to find in our 3 day trip to the New Forest. An attractive unassuming cottage on a beautiful and quiet spot, with the forest virtually on your doorstep. Moreover, with ponies greeting you at the gate! The facilities were basic but fine: comfortable beds, tidy rooms and a lovely breakfast. We liked the dogs... More

If you want to stay in a posh hotel (there are plenty in Brockenhurst) then that's up to you. Ideal if your on a business trip etc. Maybe thats where the complainers got it wrong? Luckily, I chose to stay at Carey's cottages. The owner opened the door wearing muddy boots n had rosey cheeks and a lovely smile, perfect!... More

My husband and I stayed in this B & B for a weekend. Our dog was made to feel as welcome as we were, which was lovely as so many places are anti - pet. The house was clean and comfortable and the owner very helpful. The location was fantastic, and we would definately stay again.

I stayed in Carey Cottages earluier this year when the owner was away having an op. I loved it for not trying to be a hotel, but for thereally attractive home with a very special character, for its three beautiful dogs and the warmth of my reception with my own dog. It is so unusual to find somewhere nowadays that... More

We stayed in this B+B in July having made the booking a while ago (before we saw the other reviews on tripadvisor). I was hesitant in view of past reviews, but have to admit was pleasantly surprised by our stay. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the setting is very charming and peaceful. Although she does have 3... More
