I discovered the Filly whilst searching for a place to eat on a very sunny weekday whilst on holiday in the New Forest. The staff were courteous and friendly. The food was of high quality and quiet reasonable, however the food did take quite a while to appear even though it was very quiet at the time. I would definately pay... More

Went for dinner. Scruffy, traditional pub. There seemed some confusion if they could seat us, even though it was half empty! Took ages to take our order, & then a wait of 40 minutes! I had crab salad, which was room tempreture, as opposed to chilled. The Eton mess was also room tempreture, & I presume frozen fruit, as they... More

Excellent value, clean, comfortable, friendly and very handy as a base if you are visiting the New Forest, within a mile of Brockenhurst village centre. Well worth a visit as great value for money, breakfast was really good and the dinner menu is pretty good too.

Really disappointed with the room. No mention of the horrendously noisy road, just the view. It didn't help that the windows were old and couldn't be shut fully! The shower pressure was shockingly bad too. To be honest the whole place could do with a bit of makeover. I had the full English breakfast, which was plentiful but very greasy.... More

On checking the online menu for veg options for my friend - there were 5 options - we booked The Filly. On arriving the main menu had no veg options on it, there was only 1 starter and 1 main on the 'specials' menu. We ordered and I had the burger with bacon and cheese. The food looked good on... I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Filly Inn, a lovely old 16th century coaching inn with loads of period charm. We stayed one night last weekend so that we could cycle around the New Forest and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all so friendly and attentive, In particular the young guy with a bit of a beard (sorry... More

Just checked out and seeing as nobody asked us how our stay was we thought we would tell you on here! Stayed for two nights. Some staff were friendlier than others. It could be so great if they made more of an effort to chat to customers and be more welcoming. Our bed seemed smaller than a double which was... More

My Wife and I stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend for an event at Beaulieu. The room was very comfy and nicely decorated. (Room 4) We also had a Sunday evening meal, Both choosing the roast chicken dinner. Very tasty, and both opted for New Forest ice cream which was delicious! Price for the stay was a little... More

I ordered a locally caught crab sandwich which I was expecting to be good for the asking price of £9.00. Food around these parts is normally of good standard so £9.00 should of been something to talk about. Instead I received a sandwich with a the smallest amount of crab filling I have ever been served. It came with a... More
