Super quirky hotel with unusual bits and pieces that the owner has collected over the years. the outside bar overlooks the sea and you can see the sunset from there. Staff are lovely and very informative about the hotel and its past. continental brekkie is amazing! excellent location for town and the beach and parking right in front of the hotel. What's not to love about this gem of a place!

Great hotel, interesting and quirky decor and excellent room and service. Great location. Parking slightly restrictive but we usually managed to find a space. Breakfast served at certain times although on our first morning we arrived 10 mins early and were asked to wait for 8am, even though the dining room was empty. Late breakfast for those who want to be up and out early. Excellent food, though limited to just the cooked breakfast. No offer of cereal, fruit or toast and marmalade. Come on, isn’t this is a British hotel? Our room was situated in the roof space of the building and it was very hot at night even with the windows open and the fan going full blast. The room was however spacious with lots of cupboard and drawer space. Everything seems new. Bathroom was spectacular. A huge and efficient shower. Very clean. Surprised that the advertised supply of ‘toiletries’ amounted to one tiny bar of soap. Nothing else. Not even a separate one for the shower. Overall a great place to stay and easy access to everywhere in and around Bude. Did Covid prevent the supply of toiletries or the stingy amount of sugar offered with Large pot of coffee? Had to ask for salt and pepper both mornings for breakfast after it was served. Little details make a big difference. Maybe we are being picky. Overall and excellent hotel; just a few little gaps in the service.

+1
We booked here for our 20th anniversary and was presently happy with this hotel, room was nice and big with a big en suite and a shower to die for, big ceiling fan to help with the heat at night, a brilliant view overlooking the hills and the sea, only downside was the bed was hard which gave us a bit of an uncomfortable sleep, very quirky inside with all the memorabilia and the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, morning breakfast was good but bacon a bit dry, outside bar area could do with a clean as cobwebs all over the chairs and floor had leaves and bits of rubbish on it, we went up to the outside seating area and the views were fantastic only downside was grass needed cutting and tables needed cleaning, just a bit of TLC needed but overall a great stay here for 2 days, we would book again, well done all of you.
