Room was clearly used previously as a cupboard, it was tiny but clean and the bed was very comfortable. We passed another two rooms as they were being cleaned and they were nothing like the room we were put in - far superior. The en-suite was an absolute joke think it had been a wardrobe in a previous life! On... More

The hotel is clean, safe, located in a small town. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Great shower and bath tub. The beds were so comfortable and the room spacious. Not much to do at night so bring a movie.

Based right in the centre of callendar. Staff were friendly enough. Room was basic but comfortable. Price is very affordable, so you get what you pay for. So don't complain if it's not five star luxury. If you want a place to put your head down and not pay the earth for, have great wi/fi signal, then this is the... More

We had lovely large bedroom with view of the hills. Comfortable beds. Plumbing a bit noisy. Plenty of clean towels. Breakfast very good, with plenty of choice. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lounge/bar has recently been refurbished and was very nice. The entrance and corridors could do with a facelift. I would be happy to stay there... More

We arrived around dinner time to have a nice meal before heading home, alarm bells should have rang when we where the only people in the bar 😕 however we ordered food and drinks and when it arrived the portion sizes where great however the scampi wasn't cooked properly only for the kitchen staff to stand and argue that it... This hotel is a lovely building in a good central location. The decor is dated and very basic and I felt it wasn't worth the £80 charged for one night. The staff were pleasant but not overly helpful especially when we raised the fact that despite ordering gluten free on booking that there were no gluten free options at breakfast... More

Our weekend to Scotland without our husbands! Drove up for the weekend with my sister for some girly time last minute. No Fuss, simple clean and friendly hotel . Grand staircase as you enter is stunning. History in abundance of this beautiful old building, family run and staff very helpful, good recommendations of what to do in the area. Free... More

First of all, it does need to be said that the staff that we encountered (both on the desk and at breakfast) were all very polite. Sadly this hotel is in desperate need of renovation. When we were there it was perfectly clean, but it is very dated. The rooms are very basic and not anywhere you'd want to do... More
