Absolutely beautiful hotel . Lots of lovely gardens standing on the river . Roaring fires and piano bar made for a lovely relaxing evening before our journey home . Bedroom was nice with a massive bed and jacuzzi bath . If I was being ultimately picky the food was expensive. But would highly recommend here.

We were given a 'discounted' rate as we were attending an event here, however the room allocated to us as 'superior was anything but. The furniture was crowded in. We had to move an armchair to allow some space around the bed. Not necessarily a problem but this revealed an old sock, the (dirty) cover for someone else's toothbrush, and... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night August 2016. We had the Lady Esher room which was beautifully appointed and had a large bathroom . The furnishings were sympathetic to the building although the bed was a little hard for our liking. The bar, lounge, library and chapel all on the ground floor were magnificent. The experience really... More

Third visit and counting: there aren't many places as welcoming, steeped in history yet retaining the warmth of a country house with 5 star hotel standards. Try the haggis for breakfast- it's the best in Scotland!

We visited this hotel for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. Our room was cosy and romantic. The food was excellent and the grounds made a lovely walk at night under fairy lights. In the room we were provided with complimentary refreshments and fresh fruit. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. We would highly recommend this hotel for... More

A really nice setting with old buildings however when you get inside its really nice. Lots of little rooms. The staff are brilliant, very polite and smile alot. One thing that was amazing was the peacock roaming around the gardens. Would defo go back.

Arrived in Callender after a day touring round the area in the pouring rain. It was lovely to walk into the hotel to be welcomed by roaring fires in every reception room and truly friendly staff. We had a lovely ground floor room with a large bathroom. The grounds were superb ( on the edge of the river ) and... More

Had an overnight stay here at the Roman Camp. The Staff are fantastic and do what they can so guests enjoy the stay as far as possible. Have walked through the grounds many times on visiting Callander ,This was our first time staying here. When we arrived at reception there was a roaring log fire which added to the Highland touch... We stayed for two nights on a DB&B rate. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food sublime. The bedrooms however could do with a little TLC but don't let that put you off as they are very comfortable. Well worth a visit.

We booked a one night stay for a birthday celebration with friends. It's certainly not the cheapest hotel in Callander but it was worth every penny. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We didn't have dinner in the hotel but the breakfast was excellent. The hotel and the decor is charming, and the gardens, with their resident peacock, are... More
