Arrived in Callender after a day touring round the area in the pouring rain. It was lovely to walk into the hotel to be welcomed by roaring fires in every reception room and truly friendly staff. We had a lovely ground floor room with a large bathroom. The grounds were superb ( on the edge of the river ) and... More

Had an overnight stay here at the Roman Camp. The Staff are fantastic and do what they can so guests enjoy the stay as far as possible. Have walked through the grounds many times on visiting Callander ,This was our first time staying here. When we arrived at reception there was a roaring log fire which added to the Highland touch... We stayed for two nights on a DB&B rate. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food sublime. The bedrooms however could do with a little TLC but don't let that put you off as they are very comfortable. Well worth a visit.

We booked a one night stay for a birthday celebration with friends. It's certainly not the cheapest hotel in Callander but it was worth every penny. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We didn't have dinner in the hotel but the breakfast was excellent. The hotel and the decor is charming, and the gardens, with their resident peacock, are... More

Proir to our stay we phoned the hotel to inform them that we had a guide dog puppy, and he would be with us at all times, we where told that this wasn't going to be a problem. On arrival at the hotel everything seemed lovely, at check-in the receptionist was very friendly and we explained again about the puppy... More

We absolutely loved this little jewel of a country manor hotel. Each common room was more charming than the last. The grounds were gorgeous and included an herb garden, a formal garden, extensive pathways, resident peacocks (with week old hatchlings!) and a spectacular view of the river. The bathrooms looked recently updated. The staff was attentive, professional and truly welcoming.... More

One night band b booked. Quiet position well off the main road but still easy walking access to the fleshpots of Callander . Colourful gardens down to the riverbank. Warm welcome from staff and roaring fire . Downstairs large bedroom overlooking garden,. The view was obstructed by the dirty inside of the windows and the carpet had stains. Furniture was... More

During our recent driving tour of Scotland my wife and I enjoyed an overnight stay at the Roman Camp Hotel in Callander. We did have high expectations for the hotel but were even more surprised by the sheer elegance of the property. While driving down the avenue of mature (probably several hundred years old) trees approaching the hotel there was... More

We stayed at The Roman Camp as members of the wedding party. The wedding breakfast was lovely with all of the guests being served promptly. The food was fantastic. Thought the drinks were expensive but the staff were very friendly. We were in the Eyrie room, which as the name suggests was in the attic so for those taller than... More
