Arrived here last weekend for a single nights stay, had know in advance that the house had been taken over by new management and that this was their first B&B venture. Room was suitable, and backed onto the back garden, bathroom was fine...loved the shower!! Had the continental breakfast for an extra £7.50 which included some lovely homemade breakfast cereal/granola.... More

We booked this for a single night's stay and found the welcome from our hosts to be very friendly, and once they had shown us around they left us in peace to relax, which was perfect. Went for a little evening walk along the lanes nearby and found a pretty section of river with a bridge. Got a good night's... More

Stayed for 2 nights in September for a wedding we were attending nearby. My parents who stayed at the same time as my partner & I had no problems with their room and other than noting it could have been cleaner they were quite happy. Our room unfortunately was quite different. We were greeted by the lady (possibly Jenny from... More

I booked a room for August through booking.com. I made an error with my phone number (1 digit wrong). Booking.com emailed me to ask for correct number. Then 4 hours later, emailed me again to say that Heronshaw House had cancelled my booking. I had had a very busy day at work and hadn't been able to respond. When I... More

Thought perhaps my experience over two nights was just the (bad) luck of the draw...but all the comments I would have made regarding the lack of tv, no info given about internet availability or fire safety, spiders, lack of sufficient tea/coffee making supplies, power shower without curtain, etc etc have been made before, and obviously Jenny and Craig don't take... We arrived and had a very warm welcome from Craig who showed us to our rooms, he explained where everything was, the rooms were lovely with a power shower, he told us what time breakfast was in the morning, Jenny welcomed us in the morning and cooked us a lovely breakfast, the cereals were to die for with fresh fruit... To the contrary to some previous comments, we found the host to be welcoming, friendly and obliging, making sure our needs were met. The breakfast, although not included in the price, was of excellent quality and well worth the money. However, it would have been nice to have been given a choice of what was in the cooked breakfast or... More

Where to start. The best advice that I can give you is to read all the reviews, pick out the consistent themes and don't take a chance like we for the first and last time did. I have never felt the need to write a bad review before, we travel around a lot and are very easy going people. After... More

I read the reviews on the way to this b&b and was dreading it as the reviews were not great .. But the house was very nice and despite being very late to arrive the host was friendly and sympathetic. Breakfast was lovely but I was pleased I read reviews and knew it was extra before choosing. Reading the reviews... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We offer superior accommodation and great local food - ideal for a family celebration, a house party with friends, or just a pampered, relaxing weekend break. Heronshaw House at Hurn is a traditional 17th century stone-built farmhouse, with various brick modifications over the centuries, on the edges of the New Forest, in traditional farmland and therefore quiet, but surprisingly very close to all major transportation and Bournemouth Airport. Bournemouth centre is just 10 or 12 minutes away with its wonderful beaches and lovely town centre. ... more   less
