We were looking for a nice place to spend couple of nights and recharge our batteries. Harbour Christchurch delivered. 5-star check in / out experience by Olivia. Arrival lunch at The Jetty was amazing, we couldn’t believe the location and were so impressed by the quality of the food and the charming team. Very reassuring to see Chef Alex so visible making sure everyone was having a good meal. The room was nice, a bit claustrophobic but we paid for the smaller room so cannot really complain about it. Quality bathroom amenities and confortable bed. The room did get quite hot in February so I don’t think is a good idea to stay over the summer as the hotel doesn’t have AC. Nice provision of gin but we didn’t use it, as we didn’t know how to get ice and lime. The spa is quite dated and in need of a full refurbishment, it was reassuring to find out it will happen in autumn and for sure it will make a massive difference, in the meantime do manage your expectations as the place is tired. The spa staff isn’t very friendly and avoid eye contact, even I was in crutches they couldn’t care less. It made me wonder if the spa was managed by a different company as the staff in the rest of the hotel was very charismatic and guest focused. Breakfast at Upper Deck was very good, the Continental selection may appear limited but the a la carte selection is a real treat. The Spanish manager remembered our name on the second day and allocated our usual table which was a nice touch. In the evening, Upper Deck transforms itself into a destination bar & restaurant with beautiful ambience and well curated cocktails by a very experienced bartender (guy with tattoos). We ate outside the hotel on both nights and regretted we didn’t have dinner in house as both restaurants are very relevant in terms of offering and quality oriented. It was evident they had a big following of local residents which is a good sign. The hotel location is convenient in front of the harbour but away from the High Street, a taxi is only £9 each way so not really an issue.

Hotel's Favorite
We had a very pleasant overnight stay here with my mum and sister to celebrate a special birthday. We stayed in a family room which was perfect for us - a double and twin rooms linked by an internal lobby that led to the bathroom. Rooms were well equipped and very comfortable. Complimentary gin and sherry was provided and a birthday card and chocolates had been left for my sister. Another nice touch was the colouring book, crayons and elephant towels left on mine and my sister’s beds although we did leave them for the next guests! ; D We had a sparkling afternoon tea which rivalled the ones we’ve had in the famous London hotels and a breakfast so good we didn’t need lunch! We were able sit on the upper terrace each time we visited the restaurant and enjoyed the gorgeous view. We also visited the Upper Deck in the evening for cocktails and wine. A really comfortable, stylish bar. I used the spa facilities in the morning and this was a real treat. A nice sized pool with Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna (also a gym which I don’t use) which led on to a gorgeous ‘hideaway.’ This opened up onto a terrace with loungers and views of Mudeford Quay. Teas and water were also available. The location itself can’t be faulted - the hotel overlooks Mudeford Quay and has been designed so that the views can be appreciated from all the main rooms. The quay is within walking distance which is well worth doing. Finally, the most wonderful thing about this hotel is it’s staff. I’ve never experienced such friendly, professional and efficient service. Everyone we spoke to from reception to housekeeping was so lovely and helpful and really created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The team in the Upper Deck restaurant and bar worked especially hard as it was very busy. They kept a smile on their faces despite having to deal with one very difficult guest. Well done to you all - the situation was handled discreetly and with dignity. I’m not sure I’d have been so nice! Thank you for making our stay so special. We won’t hesitate in recommending this hotel to family and friends and we will most definitely return.

Another fabulous stay at HH Christchurch. We have stayed at a number of other Harbour Hotels but none compare. Putting aside the lovely location, what really makes Christchurch special is the crew. From reception to room cleaning to restaurant and bar staff. Nothing is too much trouble and they all work incredibly hard. They are an amazing team. Please look after them all. Thank you for another lovely break. We will be back!

We returned to this beautiful hotel in December 2023 for a pre-Christmas stay. Our first visit had been end of September 2023 and we were eager to go back! I use a wheelchair so we went through the spa entrance and I was helped in the elevator by the same lovely lady I'd met last time (I think her name is either Stacey or Tracey, unfortunately I didn't make a note of it but she works at the spa reception) Then at the main reception we were greeted by Kirk, who we'd also met previously, so it was lovely to immediately feel at ease and welcomed by these familiar, friendly faces. Also Kirk kindly helped me in my wheelchair and the elevator to the room. We'd booked the same room as before, which has a wonderful balcony with stunning views overlooking the harbour. Due to my health limitations, we have all our meals via room service which were delicious. I made a note of a few names specifically who were so helpful e.g. Molly bringing us dinner and extra biscuits, Sylvia bringing us breakfast and Olivia providing us with the al a cart menu in addition to the standard room service menu which meant we had some more options. Lizzie and Cristian was also really helpful via email, before our stay, with arrangements for taxi butler and afternoon tea etc... There are only two slight downsides. Firstly, we would love a few more vegetarian options for main meals. Secondly, the bath is rather difficult to get out of. I do use a wheelchair (I can walk, but not very far at all and can't stand up for long) I know there's the option of a disabled shower room, but I really love having baths for all my aches and pains. I have a bath at home which I have no problem getting out of because there's handles on either side... The bath in the hotel bedroom has a support bar on the wall, but it's positioned at a really strange angle. I feel like it needs to be further along the wall, in order for it to give support when getting out. Luckily my husband helps me, but it's still quite tricky! It's a shame because it's the only negative thing about the room for me (and I don't want a different room because I love the balcony so much) I mention this because I don't know whether the support bar could be repositioned? That aside, it was still an absolutely wonderful stay. On the day of departure, Olivia helped me in the elevator with my wheelchair and she was very understanding and kind. Then Lynne at reception was so warm and charming, followed by Amy who was really sweet and thoughtful, saying that if in future there's any additional breakfast food we'd like with room service then to let her know. I felt like these three women (Olivia, Lynne and Amy) at the end of our stay were like three angels. They gave off such a lovely vibe of warmth, care and attentiveness... honestly, I actually found it quite emotional! (in a good way) If you visit this hotel you'll be made to feel very special, or at least that's my personal experience. We were hoping to return again in March 2024, but my health is particularly bad at present, so we'll have to wait and see what happens... but we will definitely be returning again this year!

Another lovely lunch at The Upper Deck. We love it here. Every course delicious. Loved the smoked haddock rarebit with leek and pea fricasse - really tasty. Coffee sticky toffee pudding - this was inspired. Alex - thank you for looking after us so well yesterday and Sergei - the margaritas were perfect as usual! ❤️

Another amazing stay at The Harbour Hotel in Mudeford. Stayed for four nights with the kids over half term. Staff were as attentive as ever, nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean, really comfy beds. Breakfast is always delicious as were our evening meals. The spa area was lovely, just what we needed after a day in the rain. The pool was a little colder than usual but the staff were apologetic and did what they could to fix it quickly. We will definitely be back.
